Read-Bellemare-Lyubimov - Feanor
Even though I wasn't bringing them up as an example of depth, the comparison could be made with Schenn or Simmonds being used on the 3rd line. That third center spot is key though and their top 3 center depth is better than ours
And they have Letang |

The coach to this point has felt that the defense he provides, and consistency he provides within the team structure, is worthy of having him in the lineup. Right or wrong. I think most fans aren't looking at it correctly. The Flyers are a playoff bubble team, which means there is a fine line between winning a losing. In that case, that means that you have players who might not do much to help you win, but they help you not to lose. If Hakstol and or Hextall felt like Taylor Leier or any other player would help them win more, I think they'd be in the lineup. Hopefully at some point in the near future, that happens. Until then, the coaches job is put the lineup on the ice, that he feels is best for the team. - MJL
Bubble team? Pretty sure they agreed last night this is a playoff team, period.

This is my optimal lineup. Wouldn't be horrified if Weise could play the left side and flip with Read -- who has played better than I thought he would -- but I have never seen Weise on the left anywhere he has been

Is there a #fancy graph of Provorov's turnovers by game? Would be interesting to watch as the season moves along. - Scoob
As you can clearly see, this is a graph

A team that does not clinch until the last week of the season is a bubble team. If the Flyers make the playoffs, they will clinch in the last week. |

Buffalo had the puck in the NZ near the offensive blue line. A player jumped onto the ice without one of the other 3 skaters leaving the ice. The puck was played into the skates of the player who entered the ice. They play was whistled for being offside. Happened with about 40 seconds left in OT, I believe. |

Step 1: Win 45 games
Step 2: Lose 10 games in overtime or via shootout
Step 3: Lose 27 games in regulation
Step 4: Eat popcorn |

I remember two plays like that, but I still have no idea why you brought it up...I dunno man I had a few meetings...I may have missed it. Can't we just discuss that xy scatter plot? |

....Moving on - YuenglingJagr
It it was truly obvious, you'd know why he is doing what he is doing. It's clear that you haven't grasped it. His thinking here is clearly not flawed. To say that it is, is preposterous. Hakstol knows what the weakness of the team is, and what needs to be improved. Like I said, if they felt that Leier was an improvement, and was ready to take on that role, he'd be in the lineup. When the time comes, for Leier or any other player, it will happen. In the mean time, the coach is simply trying to win games, and compete, while waiting on the future. That is all he is trying to do here, is to try and win, but you think that is flawed.

I hope so as well but his neutral zone skating last night was piss poor.
If he isn't carrying the puck or chasing it into the zone he really doesn't do well as far as being positioned and keeping momentum to get the pass. |

Surely.
As you can clearly see, there are 4 sets of data, each representing a thing. As they progress along the x-axis, their y-axis value changes as well. The amplitude of each data set sometimes increases, decreases, but never remains constant.
Clearly, this graph is a graph. |

They are going to make the playoffs. They are one of the eight most talented teams, have enough depth, have the goaltending, and their key players are the right age
No clue why some want to act like they will be stunned if they make it. None of the teams outside of Tampa and Pittsburgh, maybe Montreal, have any fewer issues than the Flyers have. Florida is pretty good, too

I think Washington is better and more solid, as well. So if we count Montreal, that's 5 teams better than them, meaning there are 3 open spots (1 in the metro, 2 wild card). I think that the Islanders are at least AS GOOD as them, the Rangers will live and die by Hank. I think it comes down to NYR/Flyers/Bruins fighting for wild card spots. |

I'm not his biggest fan, and I know we talk about sitting him or moving on from him but I have to give VandeVelde credit for last night. Regardless of how the team played up until they scored, it was his hard work that drew the penalty to start the Flyer's scoring and Hakstol even recognized it by giving his line the first shift after we scored our first goal.
Nice work VDV. - shekkie
