That's basically what it is. I apologized for snapping, because I could have handled the situation better myself, and he said that I was right in that he lets it get to him too much. Sports have kind of been his "hobby" for most of his adult life and the fact that the teams haven't been great has really worn on him. I told him I'll help him find other hobbies/things to do. He was perfectly ok with that. (I should probably also point out that he's a total pessimist about everything and I'm the polar opposite of that).
Trust me, I don't like some of the things I've seen either, but I don't let it have any kind of impact on my actual day to day life. My mood doesn't change just because the Bills/Sabres stink. - HonkFortheGoose
There was certainly a time in my life where sports meant WAY too much. Getting married and having kids tends to change that.
But sports did help take my mind off some serious stuff I was going through, but sports seasons end and I realized I still had to deal with the situation. That day stunk.... |

Oh c'mon with 15 and 9 out there's not a chance in hell they do that. Hes safe until they come back. If they're still subpar after that then maybe. - Sabresfan-365
funny..that coach WON A CUP when he was "given the tools to finish the job"
all hes been given here are soft has beens and never weres.
MURRAY is the problem....
hasn't brought in a single QUALITY defenseman.....traded for a locker room cancer that has been NOTHING but trouble..and cant stay on the ice....and pick a goalie that IM already done with...
but its the coaches fault |

They'll maintain it. The key to beating Cleveland, especially in the state their pitching staff is in now is to stay patient. The Cubs have very patient hitters, something Toronto lacked. |

I make you all this OATH......the day that our "generationally talented franchise player" is in the top TWENTY.......
OR.......
We actually MAKE the playoffs....
I wont post for a YEAR

I dunno im pretty happy now, think how much better it will be when every page isnt littered with "stop making excuses for Eichel having no points, so he has a high ankle sprain big deal". Just a thought |

Everyone here is totally pinning the hopes on #15..
Seriously..none of you are concerned over how EXPOSED he was in the World Cup???
He COULDNT get off the 4th line.....that really concerns me...
wheres the personal pride??? when he got moved down to the 4th line he pouted and quit..
that doesn't bother anyone?? |

Maybe I should go back to the Eeyore gifs/pics. Seems to be more appropriate right now. |

OK.
So IF either of two things happen:
1) Eichel is in the top 20 of scoring in the league. **not happening this year obviously**
OR
2) Sabres make the playoffs
AND
3) No time limit.
THEN
You won't post for a year? |

McDavid must be a bum as well since he missed half the season with a broken collarbone.
Better just take him out back and shoot him now. BUST!!!!!!!!! |

part of me wonders, if he was just a coach here, if we would have won 1 with him
team was awful good the first few years he was here
but the islanders and oilers had their cup runs - homiedclown
From 1970-1992
Boston 2 in 3 years
Montreal 7 in 16 years
Philly 2 straight
Islanders 4 straight
Edmonton 5 in 7 years
Pittsburgh 2 straight
Only one team soloed during this time. |

If I remember , He was moved to the 4th line after he got hit. Was a pretty hard one at that. His stat line for that series was better than what your thinking . |

Because most of your statements are logical fallacies. Yes its true hes not helping us win but is it because hes not playing well right now or because he's injured? |

He was great defensively that game, nice to see him come along in that regard. |

Ive seen posters get banned for less. If you offer nothing useful to the discussion and more importantly are just pissing everyone off does that not merit some sort of ban? |
