Performed far worse? Perrault, sure but he was 20-21, maybe Martin but I didn't see him play but he had Gilbert setting him up. This is also a low scoring era in the NHL so 56 pts by a 19 year old is impressive in this era when the highest scoring player only had 87 pts the year before, and the 2nd leading scorer had 86 last year. 19 year old 30 pts from 2nd leading scorer in the best league in the world. Get a grip.

I have to work on Sunday thankfully...it will save me from watching that game as well.

The way I look at it, is if they lose the game (most likely since they can't beat Brady) I won't regret sitting at home wasting a perfectly good day off. If they happen to win and I missed it, I'm totally ok with that. I won't be mad at myself for not watching.

I mean if he was SO GOOD that he was comparable to historic Calder trophy seasons..then SURELY when you pigeonhole him into JUST HIS rookie year...then he REALLY must have had the league talking....

Eichel was SO GOOD last year that he compares to legends and Calder winners...Malkin, Perreault, Mario, Jagr...YET....wasn't even NOMINATED for the Calder...

the two highest picks we have had in 30 years....a franchise defenseman signed for 6 years....a frnachise goalie settled on......two MONSTER trades made to bring in TOP LINE talent....and four defenseman brought in.....(bogo, Franson, Gorges, Kulikov)
and a scoring winger free agent that was over paid for to finish the job...
