good point . The coach isn't skating,shooting,defending,etc.. These players have talent that got them drafted and able to play in the NHL. Because a coach makes up a game plan to follow ,doesn't mean it will be the best vs every team. Let the players do what they have been programmed to do. Tweak some of their weaknesses . But don't try and reprogram them. - cabin
Remember a few years back Cab when the Sabres had such a good skating team and Lindy Ruff insisted on playing a defensive type game? |

Yep and the final game vs Boston ? he let them play and we kicked ass. He then changed his ways the next season and let them play. Lasted a couple weeks |

Couldn't agree more...which is why Disco should be on an incredibly short leash right now...he is being stubborn and it is costing us in both the win column and the area of player development |

One of my biggest gripes with Buffalo Sports fans is they value "hard work" over pure talent. It eats at me like you cant imagine....guys like Vanek, Satan, and Hasek are frowned upon....
But Gimme a Bobby Boughner, Ted Nolan, or Doug Flutie and I can win it ALL!!!
Flute...omg.....runs 30 yards to his right...30 yards to his left....20 yards back to his right ...then forward for three...and hes a WINNER....Rob Johnson throws a 7 yard completion...and hes afraid to get hit.. |

Well one thing , It's not like we got our ass handed to us by a 30th place team. But they still should have scored a goal or 2. |

I had no problem with Vanek on the team. Just didn't want him to be the captain or "leader" because he doesn't necessarily have the best work habits. Doesn't mean he's a bad player though. |

Jonathon Marchessault - 10 points - Free agent 2016
Richard Panik - 8 points was on waivers, eventually traded for a failing prospect
Lee Stempniak- 6 points in 6 games - singed for 1.25 mil for 2 years
Brandon Pirri - 4 goals in 6 games - signed a 1 year minimum deal
Patrick Weircoch- 5 points in 5 games as a LHD - signed to a 1 year UFA deal
Nikita Zaistev- 5 points in 7 games, playing top minutes on Leafs, signed from KHL
Nail Yakupov- 4 points in 8 games, playing limited minutes - traded for 3rd round pick
Can someone tell me where we have made any moves like these over the past 3 years? |

There is no reason this team looks as bad as it does. I wasn't a huge fan of the Bylsma signing and he's not doing anything to convince me otherwise this year.
This team looks completely out of sync. It's like nobody knows where to be and when to be there.
And can someone please figure out a way to get these guys to actually pass the puck correctly??
THIS COACH SUCKS! - HonkFortheGoose
the clincher for me was multiple passes back to the goalie when your 3 on 3
he's trying to keep a game close, not trying to win |

Murrays got a brand new extension, buys disco dan some time too. If there's no improvement in the second half then you could say his seat is hot. - Sabresfan-365

I still want to see what all of these guys do over a full season. All sorts of weird things happen in this league in October, which is why I am not panicking at all regarding the plays they are or aren't making.
Don't get me wrong, I still don't think this team, even when fully healthy, is good enough to make the playoffs, and they've done very little to prove me wrong at this point. However, October just simply isn't the time to assess whether your predictions are correct. It's just way too full of generally poor players and teams playing well, and generally good players and teams playing poorly. It happens every single year. |

Pegula has been generally patient, and has stated that he prefers the Pittsburgh Steelers mold of continuity. I know we can point to Ruff's and Regier's firings, but that was the result of what basically amounted to a fan mutiny, and after 13 or so years. None of this regime has been around that long. |

Funny you say that. During the Philly game, they came back from a TV T.O. after a penalty was called and chose to roll out PP2. That was a bit of a head scratcher. |
