playoffs?
playoffs?
did you watch the last 25 minutes of the game?
you could add ovi and stamkos and it's an 8th seed at best right now - homiedclown
Did you watch the first 35? We played a decent game and Disco put us on our heels. I feel like yesterday was more proof that we actually have some talent. Eichel and Kane added in for Grant and X makes us a much better team as well.
I understand the last period was a nightmare. Didn't it look like we were in serious control for the first half?

Canceled it until next year... One of the few problems with being single is not having anyone to help when you're (frank)ed up.
Waiting til next year when my family comes back down. |

The only excuse I can come up with is that we looked good because the Flyers played the night before Idk .. once we play in elite team then we'll see how we do |

Montreal isn't an elite team? They smacked us around, but methinks we will see once we play an elite team with our elite Center back.
Teams play through injuries so it isn't the best excuse to have, but I think people really downplay the amount of talent you take away from this roster with these two guys removed. |

jake McCabe lead the team with a plus-six as a rookie last season...most of his ice-time was with Bogosian...I watched how they played with and covered for each other last year and they had great chemistry...were the second pairing on the ninth-best pk unit in the league...imo, y'all are way to consumed with bogo... - Michael Pachla
This - as a I said months ago armchair GM's, who have no clue how to play D have no idea which D are solid players. They just repeat the narrative that is mentioned on sites like this. The love for Franson because he can slap a puck is hysterical. Offensive stats are a simplistic evaluation. If offensive stats were all that mattered, as one poster in particular seems to think, then Andy Delmore would have been an annual All Star, but playing D is more than that. Bogo is a really good outlet, first passer, is mobile, is physical in his own end and eats up big minutes. Is he an All Star? No, he needs to be better in his own end, but I want a year where he is healthy before I throw him under the bus. |

Yeah I know Montreal is elite but I give them a pass for that since it was the first game ..
Yes teams play through injuries but it seems that they have players in the system that already to step up we have players that are third line to second line twiners
and some people are going to have to realize when Jack comes back he's going to be still injured a injury like that lingers and it's how much the player can take on I wouldn't be surprised if he only plays half games when he comes back |

Zach Bogosian was scored on the most.
That's not an opinion, it's a fact.
Mark Pysyk leads the NHL right now in preventing shots against. The entire league, not even just defensemen. Yet Murray wanted a guy who would throw his body around because that's what we apparently needed.
I also think it's quite funny to hear all the "armchair GM" comments when 75% if this board pretended to be Dan Bylsma today |

For the record I don't love Franson, he's just OK as a #5 or #6, but it's hilarious to single out the guy that cost nothing to acquire and plays 15 minutes a night. Especially when you have guys like Gorges and Bogo who make a combined 9 mil and have a negative effect on this team and would easily be replaceable by just about any average top 4-6 defender that is found in free agency any year.

Kulikov took a dumb penalty
Then Reinhart did the same right after
That's why we lost

I think that's his major flaw. He might not be hurt enough to miss games, but he's rarely at full strength. And this groin/ab/oblique thing is worrisome. He's young yet, but once you start having problems in that area they generally don't ever go away completely. And playing at 75% against the best players in the world is going to make you look foolish on many, many occasions. |

So at game 41 then blowing a 3 goal lead is unacceptable? Not game 6?
People are done losing. We've won 1 of 5 games. I don't blame people for being mad |

I don't blame people for being mad, but just arguing for a little leniency given the injuries. I get where you are coming from and GMTM did say this wouldn't be a 5 year rebuild... |

He's playing 15:19 a night, even less than when he was here. Per 60 stats when you play that little don't mean nearly as much when you play closer to the median and or mean ATOI, I would wager that 15:19 is on the low end of both those numbers. So 1) he should be good at limiting shots he's playing limited minutes and b) sample size.
No, we needed a guy that could play more than 16 minutes a night. We have a few of those guys already in Franson and Gorges, and to an extent McCabe. And aside from McCabe, and I doubt even he would've gotten us the pick and Kulikov. Maybe Murray just really liked Asplund and saw a chance to kill 2 birds with one stone. I don't know what he was/is thinking, and even when he goes on WGR as candid as he can be he still holds a lot back, but I love how everyone who bashes him knows for sure what he thinks.

Pysyk is probably playing for Vegas next year. I'm not saying Murray had the foresight to consider that, but if he did it's worth noting |

No one's calling him the best player in the league. We're saying it's blatantly obvious at this point that he's pretty good.
Also considering the Panthers are a good team, his stats relative to his other, good teammates are even more impressive |
