Pysyk is probably playing for Vegas next year. I'm not saying Murray had the foresight to consider that, but if he did it's worth noting - mattmoulson
It is worth noting. And I'm not a huge Pysyk fan. I'm still fine with moving him.....if you start replacing these guys with good players |

We were up 2 goals, with under 4min to go...
Kulikov took a dumb penalty
Then Reinhart did the same right after
That's why we lost
Blame the players who made the dumbass mistakes
That said,
It happens to everyone
Hopefully they've learned...
next game tomorrow night - jdfitz77
Did Reinhart even make contact? The angle they showed didn't even look like Reinhart's stick came up past the chest. But I couldn't rewind or anything so all I saw was one angle from super far away that was inconclusive on the poopty stream and one that was from behind the back that looked like Reinhart's stick never got up that high. |

Let's see where we are at in game 40 when the Sabres are (hopefully) healthy and putting out their best team. - SabreWest
I've seen this story before it's like Groundhog Day here it honestly is
Someone should go to the archives and look at the fourth game of the year and I bet you everyone would say the sky is not falling Lol |

No one's calling him the best player in the league. We're saying it's blatantly obvious at this point that he's pretty good.
Also considering the Panthers are a good team, his stats relative to his other, good teammates are even more impressive - sbroads24
I'm not disagreeing that he's a pretty good player, but he's still not playing any kind of big minutes which is the thing we needed more than anything else because Gorges' legs seem to have almost completely left him and he was never a speedster to begin with.
I still have a problem with "relative" stats that aren't actually relative. |

Asplunds the guy who replaces the third liner who winds up asking for a raise after a successful playoff run and you're in a cap crunch. its important to have guys like that in the system |

He's not pretty good. He's a totally interchangeable NHLer who will always be "serviceable" but nothing more. There are 60 such guys in the league right now, and another 120 waiting to get in.

If he played 23+ minutes a night and still put up those numbers I would concede that he's not only a good player, but an elite one. He could be like radiation. A little bit is ok, even good for you, but a lot is going to kill you dead. |

And if he played against top lines instead of the 3rd and 4th lines of the league. Also if he was on the PK and the PP regularly. That wears you down and causes you to make errors. That's why the eye test is important as well.
I am convinced that the Xbox generation thinks that players get a rating, they have stats and that's it just a like a video game. Well, the real NHL is not a video game you watch how they play and you see certain skills and abilities they have or don't have. |

And that's my whole point. And yours from the sounds of it. He is what he is at this moment. A guy who plays limited minutes and doesn't (frank) up a lot and makes a couple good plays. |

I'm ambivalent towards it, but at the time and even now we needed size and some skill up front. He did make the US team in the Spring with some good players of teams who didn't make the playoffs, he is smart, made the team out of camp ahead of Bailey so we'll see. |

And I'm convinced the previous generation cannot see the forest from the trees and still think blocking shots and hitting are the most important aspects of defense because Don Cherry says so.

And I'm convinced if you don' know the saying, don't use it because it probably means you can't see the forest for the trees in many other aspects of your postings including your Don Cherry drivel. Now shot blocking is big in today's NHL. Like I said you are always off in your Dmen evaluations but we are all entitled to our opinions, however simple and video-game-ish they may be. |
