Law School Halloween party tomorrow....8 kegs....should be a good time.....
- feetontheair22

yeah sounds like a good time. At South Bend there were giant Franzia parties where mountains were made from empty boxes of wine. Yes, of course there were kegs, but the Franzia was for the classy ladies.

I hate to say this but Bylsma is not the guy that should be coaching this team, John Tortorella is, he's fiery and doesn't take on crap from anyone. Doesn't matter who you are, how much you make or if you wear a letter, bring it every night and you play. Disco Dan isn't that type of coach, he is very reserved.

Idk...

When was the last he was an effective coach?

I think 89 might be right...what does this team need?? Passion.

And Torts has plenty of it.

It would be a shame if we put the time in with this kid and after he graduates he flex's his right to become a UFA. that 3-4 line center positions will be a log jam with Larsson, Grigs, Asplund, Esteban, Cornel, and now Hurley
- sskkoo1

so after tonights game Hurley has 9 points in 7 games (2g 7a) and is a +5. Not too shabby.

True. I'm just getting frustrated with this organizations inability to develop the later round picks. Foligno is the last pick (I think) who came from past the second round to be something halfway decent at the NHL level. It seems like other teams have decent success at this and we keep laying goose eggs.
- sskkoo1

Give them time. If it takes a 2nd or 3rd rounder 5 years to be a regular, so be it. Edmonton took that poop for years and they have A number of decent depth players drafted later in the line up now.

Yeah, there hasn't been anybody since '11 that's made an impact from the 2nd round.

Of course, I'm not talking just about the current guys in our system, all of them will still need more time. But, it's our system itself. If you go back to 2006 or earlier, we really don't develop anyone outside of the first round, and we miss a lot there too. Second round and beyond: McCabe is nice as a 2nd, Foligno is a good 4th rounder, McNabb is a good 3rd that LA is benefiting from, but other than that, not much.

Yeah and passed on Brown, so it can't be size either. I don't know what he values in players

Well then I guess we should trade Reinhart for Dustin Brown!

Guys...
we improved A LOT last year
and this season is ONLY 6games in

Why is everyone getting so up in arms this quickly?

We need a coach with passion...which will inspire our current roster...

We're so up in arms because we recognize the talent is there and its not showing on the ice......and that's on coaching..

SIX GAMES IN

And we could've won 4 of them

No I meant league wide. That's how long 2nd round picks take to develop.

best assessment I've seen. We may be a bit hair triggerish, but it certainly looks accurate at this time.

It may be jumping the gun at six games in, but it's not completely unfounded. It's the pattern of this team, the modus operandi that we're all so used to. It's players regressing, coaching that seems they don't know what hell they're doing, players taking nights off, and players ALWAYS injured. It's the same story over and over, and people are sick of watching the same show. The team that showed up against Minn. looked no better than the team that was iced when we were tanking for McEichel, that is not acceptable anymore even if Kane and Eichel are not in the line up. Time to start righting the ship or move players, or fire people, but this garbage we're watching is a slap in the face to the fans.
