Does anyone know how Hurley is doing this season? It seems we have a lot of 2nd rounders not doing much in their development. - sskkoo1
I hated that pick soooooo much!
Could've had Santini (stay at home defenseman) |

It may be jumping the gun at six games in, but it's not completely unfounded. It's the pattern of this team, the modus operandi that we're all so used to. It's players regressing, coaching that seems they don't know what hell they're doing, players taking nights off, and players ALWAYS injured. It's the same story over and over, and people are sick of watching the same show. The team that showed up against Minn. looked no better than the team that was iced when we were tanking for McEichel, that is not acceptable anymore even if Kane and Eichel are not in the line up. Time to start righting the ship or move players, or fire people, but this garbage we're watching is a slap in the face to the fans. - sskkoo1
Maybe...but you were a last place team 14 months ago...progress takes time. Temper your expectations abit and be thankful Dallas Eakins hasnt been hired for this key developmental season. |

lol True.
We knew Bylsma's MO coming in, he prefers vets to young kids, and that was always a bit puzzling to me considering we're a very young team. And he's done nothing but reinforce that. Unless the players forced him to play them like Eichel and Reinhart. It seems like Girgensons is the type of player that needs to play a lot to be effective. But I wonder if that broken leg was worse than we knew, because he hasn't been the same since. Psychologically he might not be where he needs to be to play like his hair is on fire like he did under Nolan. Not wanting to hurt yourself is really good motivation to play it safe.

Understandable. But we were last place 14 months ago, let's face it, by design. We didn't have to be historically bad. And I'm not denying that there will be growing pains that will take several seasons. But it's the build up of little things. For example, we gave up pick #21 in a deep draft to Ottawa for Lehner their 3rd goalie in line. Game 1 last year, 20 minutes in, he takes himself out by tripping over literarily nothing, and the loses more than half of the season. Now he's back and is expected to be our starter, BUT he's already missing games do to illness. At this point, it's really WTF are you going to do your job or not? This chit is getting old. |

So since you're freaking out about the team after only 6 games...
are u also thinking Moulson is an AllStar?!
This is WAY too small a sample size
No need to jump the gun so quickly

They keep sick players away from the team so they don't infect everyone else. Didn't you ever watch 24/7? One of the Flyers, I think it was Giroux, went to the practice rink and he saw Torts in the hall and Torts was like "are you sick?" and the guy said "yeah" and Torts was like "go the (frank) home! what are you doing here?". Lehner just got back on the ice yesterday morning. Give him a few days to get his fluids right. As soon as a guy gets the sniffles they quarantine his ass right away to make sure that the whole team doesn't get sick. It has nothing to do with "not doing his job". |

No, we really didn't need to be that bad. We kept guys in the AHL who should have been up, and we built a team around the waiver wire. |

I'm honestly not sure how they did it, and the Oilers were almost as bad and they weren't even tanking, not like the Sabres anyway, trading any goalie who won 3 games. The Coyotes, poor Coyotes. They were just a train wreck. |

The Oilers were just bad because they had no back bone or structure. People can say what they want but no team with only Hall, Eberle and Nugent Hopkins and little else is going to be good.
Imagine the Sabres with Eichel, Reinhart and Kane but no Risto, no Bogo or McCabe, no veterans worth a poop and a worse goalie than Lehner....that was the 2013-14 Oilers. |

I knew I was going to get this response, and you're right you don't play guys who are sick, but that was not my point. My point was, IT'S ALWAYS SOMETING with this organization and these players. These too much of "give him time" or "there's flash of greatness" or "he's cerebral" when the hell are we going to see anything come to fruition? I'm tired of watching other teams find guys seemingly from out of nowhere and they become virtually immediate impact players. We put in 5 years on Pysyk and it nothing, 3 years on Armia and get nothing, Kassian-nothing, Hodgeson-nothing, it just goes on and on... |

Dude guys get sick and when they do they're not allowed to play. It happens Price missed 60 something games last year and then the first 2 weeks of the season this year because of the flu. Would you be saying the same thing? Of course not, because he doesn't play for the Sabres. Lehner's underlying numbers were very good last year on a bad ankle. He's not the problem. You want to talk about other guys, fine. But you're starting to sound like Ripped, blaming Eichel for getting hurt. |
