He isn't going to be an elite player but he is going to be a very good player. His skating is still average at best but he looks a little out of sync. How did he look playing center? I didn't catch any of the Wild game (good thing).

He had his struggles at times playing with Ennis and Girgs. I don't think that line fits him. Put him back with ROR and Okposo and put Beer with Ennis and Girgs. Heck, I would even consider a line of Ennis-Girgs-Fasching.

Exactly. 89 posted last night that Dallas inquired about him a few days ago. If Ruff wants him, I have no problem with that. The return will be tricky though as they don't have the cap space to take Ennis for a pick, it has to be a roster player.

solid D man. It's a tough to gauge Dallas interest in Ennis but there's a track record there between him and Ruff. The other problem is the Stars have only $1.6M in cap space. They could move a guy to LTIR. Not sure who we could get back. Ritchie, Faksa, or Johns as you mentioned.

That would have completely depleted what is now a serious depth problem, and exasperated the upcoming cap crunch. If he and his agent(remember Lemieux) tried playing hardball with Anaheim, it would have been disastrous here at this time. I expect that in the future Buffalo will be a MUCH more desirous location.

He struggled in camp but is playing well at the moment. Hopefully he is one of those mid round picks that just keeps getting better.

I'm not blaming Eichel or anyone who is sick, I was just using Lehner as an example. I think you're still missing the point that I'm trying to make. Basically, we are now icing a team that for the most part is our new team, our new core of guys. And, just because Kane and Eichel are not in the line up, they already look like the 2014 Sabres, and that's just scary. Something's not working here. Yes, it's early, but the writing is on the wall to consider doing something already this early in the season because we have obvious problems.

Very hard not to feel that way. Too many years developing this mindset. I believe the fans, and the players need a fundamental right on change; say the coach.

No, we don't have everything in place yet, we're still building, but we have a lot who will be here for the long haul. Effort seems to be lacking though, and that's a disease that spreads fast. I expect coaching to address that, and I'm not seeing it, I think that's our biggest issue right now.
