He basically said they need to be out of the top 10 picks. So we need to finish the season 19th overall or better in order for him to settle down.

That means we have to hear him complain everyday for the next 5 1/2 months approximately.

If you mean not making the playoffs, I think I've said that in almost every post. But the question is, is do you really believe that they are one of the worst 4 teams in the league (LV gets a top 3 guarantee pick).

I initially thought so as well. Apparently he wants Von Miller money. Also, there are reports that he refused to play their defensive scheme. He only played half of the snaps yesterday. I guess he was freelancing on the 28 yard run on our opening drive.

If the team puts forth the effort they put in the last two games consistently, then there's no way they are a top 5 picking team. Adding 2 top 6 back into the line up will guarantee that.

I know DD has mentioned in the past what recent expansion teams got in terms of their first draft, I just don't remember, but was pretty sure they wouldn't get anything as coveted as #1, or even the chance.

Well I can say, that I think Ari, Cbus, Car, and Tor will finish with a worse record. So that's 4 teams right there that I believe will finish worse then Buffalo.

There is also something about them getting that 3rd position for 3 more seasons regardless on their position at the end of the season.

Guaranteed spot in the draft lottery for four years
Oh, hell yes! Even if the new team wins the Stanley Cup, they’ll be in the lottery the following year with a chance (while very slim) to get up into the top three selections. More importantly, this completely takes away any thought that the team may tank the first few years in order to move up in the draft. Make the playoffs or not, Vegas will have some ping pong balls that could bring the next superstar.
Note: We are questioning this rule a bit. Friedman is the only source on it, and while we normally believe him, it just feels too good to be true. If/when we get more info on it, there will be a full post dedicated to it.

I'm not a huge fan of disco dan so far either, but maybe that will change. But the talent is on this roster to be competitive even without Eichel and Kane. It's all about not taking nights off like we saw in the Minne. game.

Big thing though is to make a decision by January on playoffs or bust, and if it's bust tank and tank hard. we have UFAs that we could get value for and to not sell at the deadline would be a huge mistake.
