The act of rebuilding is tearing it down and using the draft picks you get from tearing it down to build a contender. Not counting those years doesnt make sense. - Sabresfan-365
Agreed.
Especially considering it is the current GM who made the decision to tear it down and make those picks. |

More like year 2 of the rebuild. 2 of those years were tear downs. - SabreWest
Thank you. I claimed the same thing but they counted the dismantling. All we had was draft picks. |

He should get better every game . He needs a goal or 2. - cabin
Solid first period. They look like they are in control and not panicking/running around out there when Minny puts a bit of pressure on them.

Tearing it down is part of rebuilding, its what helps you get guys 15, 23 etc. - Sabresfan-365
I guess that's technically true. But I think it's important to distinguish the phase where they are removing talent from the team and making it worse in the short term from the phase where they are adding talent to the team to make it better for the long-term.
Half of the last 4 years were doing the former. This is the second year of doing the latter. |

Except our entire future rests upon those draft picks, mainly 15 and 23.
If they dont do the dismantling they cant properly do the building. B doesnt happen without A so it doesnt make sense to not count it as part of the rebuild. |

There's are reason that Murray said no to trading Bailey. |

Technically speaking they started "adding" talent, particulary to the core and for the future the second they draft 23. They followed that months later by adding Bogo and Kane who they hoped would be part of the future so its a little longer than just the 2nd half in terms of years.
Either way im getting away from my original point, we still have just one d-man who can properly exit the zone. The others are either icing it or giving it away. |

As a throw in sure makes sense, if he needs to be included to land you a guy like trouba theres not much to think about. |

Then let's call it year three.
Start with the drafting of Reinhart. |

Franson needs to play more in certain spots. He can make a pass. But he needs strictly offensive minutes |

Put McJesus on any team and you have to get instantly good. Secondly, it's still early. Let's see where they are in March.
