Fans have the OPPORTUNITY to enjoy the diversion of following their team.

And in taking advantage of that opportunity, what people SHOULD be doing is considering their team in context, not reaching conclusions based on mere "snapshot" data.

This should be enough that I don't have to elucidate (yeah I said (frank)ing elucidate!) why I know that people who were upset after the first 6 games of the 2016-17 season were out of line.

tell me again how bad the defense is?? Buffalo is currently ranked 8th in GA and the leafs are 28th.

The preseason game against a bunch of kids and 2 guys that will NEVER play goalie for the Sabres... that a great reason.

they might win or they might not... they play these games for a reason... if they loose 8-1 or whatever the score was I'll worry (not a chance in He double hockey sticks) otherwise no big deal, either way

I can say the defense is good, its not the tire fire most of you are making it into... are they elite, no!!! But they aren't crap either. I would be wonderful to have a team made up of nothing but all stars but that just not going to happen, EVER. just enjoy the damn wining.

If we can't score at least two or more goals against that horrific defense then yes I will be worried

This game should be so loosey-goosey because everyone has terrible defense if they can't absolutely destroy a team that's going to be in the top five for the draft then what does that make us ?

It's better to look at a team over the last few games and say "That is how the team is playing right now". Right now the team is winning games because of the defense and goaltending. Of course that can change but as of the last 3 games they have played well. Just like you can't say the defense is elite with 9 games played how can we say "man that defense is terrible"? So let's base it off last year when they were terrible, right? Oh wait, they were middle of the pack.

The defense is average. The offense struggles.
