If we Beat the leafs I won't have to deal with my brother for a whole week

If we lose I'll have to hear him talk about his three rookies they're going to win rookie of the year Etc and that they will make the playoffs before Buffalo

- GERBE!!!75PTS

So that's why you're so invested in beating them.

Holy link length batman.

This will all be moot if we beat Toronto, right? Or are we going through this every divisional game?

- Zschalberg

divisional games don't matter, same for special teams

Sabres PR @SabresPR

With his 2nd GWG of the season, Johan Larsson now has seven GWGs since the beginning of 2015-16. Only 15 NHL players have more in that span.

I get the feeling he's that guy that ends up coming up big in the playoffs when you really need them to.

Not gonna lie, that line has been super fun to watch going back to last year.

I agree.

And given the long term trend of consistent improvement there is no reason to be upset.

No one is saying play him if he's going to get hurt or hurt himself more. No one is saying suit him up early.

If the team is already playing well and looking like it's supposed to and Jack comes in at 80% he is still a good player that is added to your team. You're right, he won't be able to do everything, but if he can help and won't hurt himself more I say play him. Without him for now though we do need to at least tread water, which was the point of the first post. Getting a few games over .500 is important while waiting for him since we were looked at to be near the bottom once he went down. Him coming back even in a limited capacity with a nice 1st half of the season would be a big help and nice, needed addition to a team trying to make the playoffs.

My question is let's say we're doing alright without Jack and it comes to maybe December. He can play at 75-80% with little risk of reinjuring himself. Or we can rest him and bring him back later. When do we pull that trigger and put him back in?

- Zschalberg

that's a good question 75 to 80% if I was the owner I would make sure he's at 100% before I put him back on the ice that's a player that can make or break your franchise. in my opinion but sometimes winning gets to peoples heads and they become selfish and they don't think we'll see but it's an interesting question

I think they leave it up to him. So if he's back in there, it's because he wants to be.

It's also entirely possible that he doesn't have any issues when he comes back. Just because other people say theirs bothered them for a long time doesn't mean the same thing will automatically be true of him as well.

That's an injury that the player has to judge his capacity. He can say 100% but in his mind only 60%

according to all the EXPERTS, it should be an easy win, For the leafs.

they are better than us with Jack and Kane.... so we don't have a chance we shouldn't even show up. just look at all the predictions before the season started.

Matthews will probably score 8 goals on us, because he's a hockey god.

I Love my American players but Im hoping Matthews just gets absolutely killed on the ice lol

I guess it depends how much pain he's in, how effective he is at that time, and how much it'll affect his healing. If we had to wait until February and then he'd be 100% I'd do that, especially if this team is still doing okay.

I'm sure his therapy is way more intense and correct compared to what we would get with the same injury.

I love how it was hyped up that McDavid and Matthews would be the big rivalry. What are they talking about, they'll play 2 times a year. At least we get to see Eichel v Matthews more than that. NHL really messed up letting McDavid go to Edmonton.

I hope he's smart enough to come back when he's fully recovered I'm hoping he's thinking about the money to be honest

He's also a kid so he's probably healing a lot faster than a lot of us would. But still, gotta let it heal properly before we push too much. I'd expect December/January.

I sprained my ankle years ago. Most people told me it would never be the same. They were wrong. It wasn't just a mild sprain either. I looked like I had a grapefruit sticking out the side of my ankle after it happened. The Dr even went back to recheck the xrays after she looked at it, because she couldn't believe it wasn't actually broken.

What do you mean by this? What does money have to do with it right now?

I actually understand Gerbe-ese this time, so I'll translate.

"I hope he's thinking about making money for 15 years and doesn't rush back, rather than rushing back and potentially only playing at a lesser level for 5-10"

Because of what exactly? He's not wrong.

Even last night, it was a solid gritty win. But it's not a win you should plan on getting most of the time. They were out shot, outplayed from the 1st on, and were fortunate on the two goals. Brodin passed it right to O'Reilly for the first one, and the second one hits Larsson shaft and goes in.

They are on the right path, but others are right, expect inconsistency. Eichel will help tremendously. But I am expecting the playoffs. Let's look like a playoff team first
