No surprise. Weise hasn't looked good, pretty much all season. VadneVelde & Bellemare are Hakstol's boys and TBH, they have been better than Weise.

Mildly surprised at Schenn, but Cousins hasn't been that good so far, despite getting some points early on. Hakstol is trying to fix the issues however he can.

Placing a player on IR doesn't help with the cap space. If Del Zotto is ready to come back, having MacDonald injured limits the available moves.

No surprise. Weise hasn't looked good, pretty much all season. VadneVelde & Bellemare are Hakstol's boys and TBH, they have been better than Weise.

Cousins has been pretty crap, but playing out of position and with crap linemates sure isn't a way to give him a fair shot. I also don't think that Weise has been worse than VDV. Maybe by the standards of his contract, but no forward has been worse than VDV. He has been a complete AHL plug since the day he got here. At least Weise can say he's adjusting.

In other news, Dave Brown was seen leaving the Flyers practice facility holding a baseball bat and whistling a jaunty tune

PEB is 3C despite being a possession black hole every season, including this one, and one of the lowest scorers in the league. He has 2 assists in 11 games despite being 3C every game. VDV scored his first goal in 55 games, and is truly one of the least effective regulars in the entire NHL. They also just so happen to be our indispensable first PK unit the last couple seasons. You know, our bottom of the barrel PK unit. It's beyond absurd.

Hakstol is so obvious assembling the entire bottom 6 around keeping VDV in the lineup and Bellemare at 3C too. With Raffl coming back, it's comical at this point how Hakstol is wriggling to keep him in. At all costs.

The Schenn-CV (tip of the hat there) has me boogled. Give the guy Read at least. Read's gone 6 games without a goal but he's still pressing for chances.
