(frank) mike milbury too, (frank)ing guy always has to rag on our goalies... so sick of it. - JoeRussomanno
They've given up plenty of soft goals this year to give him the right to say it though.

Ok so I asked yesterday who'd be the last to score a goal and two of the guys without one go out and get the job done. So.....
Which goalie gets our first shutout?
Who gets the first hat trick? |

Agree.
If you want them to stop talking about the goalie stuff than stop giving up soft goals.
Both goalies have given up there fair share so far. |

It comes down to Bellemare, Weise, Provorov, and Schultz. Schultz can't get into the lineup. My money's on Weise being the last one. |

He says it regardless of what kind of goals they give up...so that solution isnt going to work |

True. This year, however, he has a right to say it. Both goalies have been subpar to date. |

That is under the presumption that he uses his mind to think critically about situations and construct valid points and then projects those thoughts to an audience in a reasonable manner |

That's why I said your point was true, that he beats that drum regardless of how good the Flyers goaltending has been over the years.
But still, he (or any other person) has 2 legs to stand on when criticizing the Flyers goaltending this year. |

On the Zetterberg goal, not sure what G was doing. Gudas is getting swarmed by Redwings and G is floating by the offensive blue line. Then he backchecks very weakly. - Marc D
This isn't me bashing Manning because he's been much improved but he played the two on one poorly. He showed his cards by leaning towards the passer instead of playing the pass to cut it off. It was too easy for Z. |

Observations:
- Another softie goal again
- Matt Read has seem to come back to earth
- Provorov needs to get back with Manning. Maybe that will happen when Del Zotto returns. Even though Streit scored I still don't like him with Provorov.
- Thought Manning fight gave the team a spark. Maybe they need a fight in the first period.
- Vandevelde scored. JFC he socres so now he is never leaving the lineup.
- If Raffl is ready who comes out? I like Lyubimov's speed and game right now so I don't want him out. - J35Bacher
Read is still playing pretty well, did you really expect him to keep up that goal scoring pace?
When MDZ comes back, I'd pair him with Ghost, put Provorov with Gudas and put Streit with Manning.
As someone said last night, VdV is one goal away from an 8 year extension, LOL
The guy who will come out when Raffl returns is likely Cousins. Lyubimov is playing too well, and Hak will never sit his man crush.

First reg season game I had the chance to watch. Fun game to watch.
Some thoughts...
AMac was pretty solid all around, really a good effort from him tonight.
Belle, another guy who gets a ton of flack here, looked decent too.
I love watching the 19 yo guys play and think it was the right move to keep them both. Both are going to be studs.
But Haks might want to cut back on Provorov's minutes a little. I think he is going to wear down if they don't keep an eye on it.
On the Zetterberg goal, not sure what G was doing. Gudas is getting swarmed by Redwings and G is floating by the offensive blue line. Then he backchecks very weakly.
Bad effort from the captain there. I'm glad he made up for in OT, but that was weak.
I don't think Schenn should get disciplined for the head shot.
It's a work in progress but getting Raffl and Del Zotto back should help.
Not sure about Weise. He looked just OK to me. I guess we'll see. - Marc D
I'm guessing that after signing his first big contract, that Weise is just pressing. However, if he doesn't pick it up soon, I'd sit him for a couple of games.

I'm with you on this. Lyubimov is playing well and deserves to stay in. Hence why I think he got bumped to line 3.
I had to laugh at the guys this morning on the NHL station on XM. They were trying to figure out how the name was pronounced. It was pretty funny that they went right to the tape of Doc Emerick making the call on the goal. They also were baffled about why he was signed when he wasn't a goal scorer in Russia. |

Milbury is also stuck in the past in believe the Flyers goaltending has always stocked. Heck I was at a bar outside of Detroit last night with my Mike Richards home orange on and that's the first thing the old guys who made conversation brought up. We haven't had solid goaltending since Bernie Parent. Yes it's been a slow start but the Flyers in my opinion have their number one in Steve Mason. For me, the only way to see consistent play is to see consistent starts. |
