Milbury is also stuck in the past in believe the Flyers goaltending has always stocked. Heck I was at a bar outside of Detroit last night with my Mike Richards home orange on and that's the first thing the old guys who made conversation brought up. We haven't had solid goaltending since Bernie Parent. Yes it's been a slow start but the Flyers in my opinion have their number one in Steve Mason. For me, the only way to see consistent play is to see consistent starts. - SuperSchennBros
I get so sick of that lazy narrative up here in Kanida especially. They say that about the Flyers without considering Lindbergh, Hextall (Vezinas) or many others who have provided solid tending over the years. I mean Mase and Neuvy were very solid all year. They've had a bad start this year, but overall we've had solid work from them.
It's funny, but if the criteria of whether or not a team has had solid tending is whether or not they won the cup, then Montreal hasn't had solid tending since Roy in 93 the leafs haven't had one good goalie since '67, and Vancouver has never had good goalies..

I basically feel, and someone else said this here also, that the Flyers have a number 1 in Mason so they should you know actually play him in games.
Their is a reason Neuvy has had chances on other teams and been traded..Injuries are a part of that but he is just good enough to tease you as a starter... |

Weise really is a pile to start the season. - SuperSchennBros
Im chalking it up to new city new team new system new everything. If he is still ineffective in December he might need to ride the pine for a few games. But still got three more seasons to go after this.

Crazy day yesterday.
Got to work at around 6:45, non-stop all day, didnt eat a thing, and thanks to Septa my normally reasonable commute took 1 hour & 25 minutes. Pick my daughter up at 6:15 from my parents house and get home just in time to whip up dinner and DVR the game. I had to pick up my wife @8:00 (back in the city) from work. Well, my beautiful saint of a soon-to-be two year-old daughter decided to nix all of those plans. Not even 5 minutes after getting home from work, and while I am getting changed in the hall way, my daughter flushes a rubber ducky down the toilet.
Anyone interested in a toddler? She does fetch a mean beer! |

Since Bernie??
I guess they forgot the Vezinas won by Lindbergh and Hexy?
Milbury is a complete jackass, so really, anything that comes out of his fat trap should always be ignored.

Yup, he has a couple ok games, a few where he was invisible and he's flat out sucked a few times as well. I'd have no problem sitting him for a couple of games and see if that snaps him out of it.

My daughter will be 3 on Saturday. I'd really like to tell you it gets easier. I really would, but I can't. If anything, they can get into even more trouble as they understand more and get better at things. |

Well, as much as he makes Don Cherry look knowledgeable, I did enjoy his rant where he ripped OV. |

I'm guessing that after signing his first big contract, that Weise is just pressing. However, if he doesn't pick it up soon, I'd sit him for a couple of games. - BiggE
Weise got bumped up to play on the first line last night.
Is that to get Weise going or because 25 YO Brayden Schenn needs another time out on the 4th line? |

That, and I just think it's a case of free agent signs his first big contract and starts to press. He needs to just relax and play his game. However, once all the forwards are healthy, he may be riding the pine sooner than later if he doesn't pick it up. Coaches don't care that a guy has 3 years left on a deal, they just want to win.

One takeaway I had from last night's game was that it was a character win despite the slow start. Last night just seemed like a trap game between the Wings not winning a game in Philly for so long, Mrazek coming off a poor start against FLA, and Zetterberg being goalless; and even a Giroux'a point streak. Just seemed like a classic game where everything would go wrong, and the 1st period certainly had that look and feeling. But we bounced back and grinded it out. Hell it was even validation it seemed like a losing game after Zetterberg scored. But we proved otherwise. |

If he had then gone on to have a stroke and been taken off the air, then, and only then, would I have laughed. He was an bumhole when he played, one of the worst GMs in league history and complete buffoon as a commentator. I cannot stand that tool.

I noticed that line of Schenn/Cousins/VandeVelde and was wondering what happened? Schenn can't be in the dog house too bad as they kept him on the PP. |

i was literally 2 seconds too late. I dove down reached into the toilet and the thing slurps right into the trap. Lodged in there. Performed a coat-hanger abortion on my toilet for about 35 minutes. Moved on to a stripe of old 12-3 Romex that I braided toghether. Notta. Had to drain and remove the toilet and buy an auger, wax seal and new closet bolts... Thing popped out like a cannon. Fell asleep around 12:15 watching a rain delay. Woke up at 2:30 to watch the remaining 15 minutes of the Flyers game.
Went to bed happy. |

Can we please go back to starting overtime with Giroux, Jake & Ghost. I don't know why Macdonald and company have started the past 2 overtimes. Both times we are losing possession and getting shellacked for the first half of overtime.
It seems like a really ridiculous strategy... |

Well, I've yet to have to actually remove a toilet because of my girl. Maybe yours is an overachiever. Last month, I did have to completely redo my bathroom sink because of her, which is probably a whole lot easier. |

This isn't me bashing Manning because he's been much improved but he played the two on one poorly. He showed his cards by leaning towards the passer instead of playing the pass to cut it off. It was too easy for Z. - SuperSchennBros
You don't think him sliding over had anything to do with seeing Giroux right with Zetterberg? I think he shifts a little because he thought Giroux had his man. |

Observations:
- Another softie goal again
- Matt Read has seem to come back to earth
- Provorov needs to get back with Manning. Maybe that will happen when Del Zotto returns. Even though Streit scored I still don't like him with Provorov.
- Thought Manning fight gave the team a spark. Maybe they need a fight in the first period.
- Vandevelde scored. JFC he socres so now he is never leaving the lineup.
- If Raffl is ready who comes out? I like Lyubimov's speed and game right now so I don't want him out. - J35Bacher
I like Lyubimov and what he brings to the bottom 6 but I wonder if he is the guy to be demoted because he is the only waiver exempt player. that will irk me so much. they are going to need cap space to bring MDZ back

Speaking of which and this isn't my way of embarrassing anyone. You might see Gudas on the power play if we have absolutely no options....And by no opinions I mean Ghost, Streit, Provorov, Del Zotto, MacDonald or Manning are all either traded or hurt. With this said, you will never see Gudas in OT, nor should we.
Just frustrated with the Gudas is a top pair, two way caliber player argument. |

Agreed!
I'd go with:
1. Ghost, G, Jake
2. Coots, Konecny, Provorov
3. Schenn, Lyubimov or Raffl once he returns, Streit
I wouldn't let AMac on the ice, his offensive skills are pathetic, and I probably wouldn't use Simmer because he really isn't good with the puck on his stick and I want guys who have both good speed and possession skills along with overall skill. |
