Personally based on the current roster and his play up until being hurt I think its valid to send him down. - nastyflyergirl
Same. He didn't do much in preseason prior to getting hurt. He needs to earn it. |

Absolutely.
This may tick some folks off, but on a truly top team, MDZ/Gudas would be a 2nd pair, Ghost/Manning the 3rd and Streit the aging veteran 7th guy. Provorov would be stuck playing junior and Schultz would be the guy you pick up cheap at the deadline for depth. AMac would have never been signed. - BiggE
Personally, Gudas would be better suited as a #5 on a truly top team. |

On the list of issues with this team right now, CV is way down the list. So far down, imho, as to not even warrant discussion. - Scoob
No idea who you're talking about, but any issue with the team is worth discussing/correcting. |

He is already playing about 20 minutes a night.
Also he looked better with Manning compared to Streit. I understand Streit and the A but I also feel that the leadership thing is somewhat overrated at times. - J35Bacher
I think leadership within a hockey organization is valued more highly then fans, maybe I'm mistaken. Also, remember in the playoffs last year, Streit was getting 1st pairing assignments. Certainly, he is not that type of dman. However, I believe at this point Hakstol would prefer to match-up Provorov with lesser forwards. As he develops, this will certainly change. Also, it's not like MDZ has been this pillar of health the last two seasons. Moving Streit in the short-term, they're one injury away from Schultz or AMac getting significant minutes on the blue line. I would love to see Morin get a shot this year. However, even if given that opportunity, he will definitely get sheltered minutes.
Basically, I think Streit is viewed as a pretty important piece on the blue line.

I think Laughton is destined to be sent to LV once he's cleared. - jmatchett383
I agree.
At some point, he should be back, but right now, I don't know how much it helps Laughton being the 13th forward. He needs ice time. |

In that case, since then they can trade him, they should take a 5th-7th rounder??? - jmatchett383
Yeah I would be fine with it, but saying if they can trade him carried with it some assumption that Hextall would be doing it for some degree of fair value.
Trading him and giving him away mean two different things to me. If and when everyone is healthy/unsuspended, they will need to remove people from the NHL roster. I just view a Streit trade as not the worst option, but not the best either |

I think the hesitation for Streit is tied to Provorov somewhat. They want to make the playoffs and I believe the organization Provorov can be that anchor on the blue line in the future. At this point, Streit helps reduce the responsibilities of Provorov at even strength and PP. Hopefully, as Provorov progresses he evolves into that 20 minute a night dman. Also, unlike other sports, leadership matters in hockey. I think the 'A' carries a lot wait. Streit isn't untouchable, but it's going to cost more then just a 2nd rounder and something else, IMO. - ravishingone
Provorov is averaging 19:49 a game, as a 19 year old. |

They are not carrying 8 dman once everyone is healthy. And if no one gets hurt someone has to be waived. And if you want MacDonald playing to get his games, waiving him wouldn't make sense. And you can't waive Manning. I think that would send a bad message as he has probably been the best defenseman so far and earned his spot.
I think a trade makes sense. Especially since so many teams need help right now. LA needs help to stay afloat. Edmonton could use another defender. Winnipeg has injuries on the back end.

My thoughts exactly. Edmonton might flip a 3rd for Schultz and a late round pick. |

Per Sam Carchidi Laughton has been sent to LV on conditioning
and side not from nfl.com HuffHuffPassDrop has been released. I bet his quote of "every NFL player has a gun" was the final PR nightmare to do him in. |

He played top minutes with Tampa - Streit2ThePoint
In 12-13, he ranked 3rd on TB defense in icetime, behind Carle and Hedman. They had Salo, Brewer, and rest was made up of part timers, that season. That was the only full season he played on TB, and played "top" minutes. |

Do AHL games count in the expansion rules? There are a number of reasons not to trade Streit now. I'd have to get an offer I can't refuse to do it now. |

Game requirements specificallly say NHL games whether its the 40 or 70 that they are aiming for. |

So if that's the case I don't waive MacDonald until he plays the 40 or someone offers me a deal.
Even if not probable I need to have at least the possibility of moving McDonald in the expansion draft. |

He was a #3 on a team that truly lacked defensive depth. After Hedman and Carle, there was a big dropoff. |

What's even funnier is someone held a poll that eagles players participated in and 6 out of 13 players agreed, or admitted they had a gun. |

Why was Coburn worth Gudas AND a 1st round draft pick, if Gudas is a top defenseman on a top team? Last chance! |
