Can you name me one prospect that you don't think is going to be a average besides nylander talking forward not goalie - GERBE!!!75PTS
Brendan guhle would be one for sure at this point in time while attention is being paid to cliff pu and Giorgio Estephan right now

That's what I'm trying to tell everyone we don't have that special player in the system we never have a hidden gem . - GERBE!!!75PTS

I know guhle is going to be good but i said forward ..
and I'm talking about now those guys are like five years away + I want to know what players are going to step up when Ennis, Marcus fossil , molasses , Gus are gone most of them will be gone at the trade deadline
I don't believe these prospects will take us to the next level |

Was just about to mention Guhle.
We need 1 top 6 winger and 1 top pairing defender and we will have a complete team. Kane could fill that wing position for me, but I understand that's a gamble or simply wishful thinking.
Nylander RoR Okposo
X Eichel Reinhart
Bailey Larsson Baptiste
Carrier Asplund Fasching
X Risto
McCabe Kulikov
Guhle Bogo
This team isn't built to win cups this year. I never remember anyone even saying that's what we were up to. However, with a couple additions we could be there REAL fast.
Still would hope LA takes Bogo. |

Foligno IMO has stepped it up in a big way this year. I would resign him as a 4th liner if he'd take a similar contract. If not easy to replace.
Carrier, Bailey, Baptiste, Nylander and Asplund could all play within the next year or two...not five. |

I was talking about five years for the other prospects that we just drafted
Asplund will be in that timeframe as well
I'm going to find if carrier has "it" but I've never been impressed with him I think he's nothing more than a tweener player IMO
Bailey , baptiste they have shown nothing that says hey these guys are gonna be really good but their speed That's it

my bad...the forward thing didn't register...that said, I get your point and it doesn't look like they have much besides Nylander as of now...
but the sabres do have three players ages 22 and under that are playing, or in the case of Eichel, have played, significant roles for the team--Ristolainen, Eichel and reinhart...
those three are in the system right now, only it's the sabres system...at the nhl-level |

Pretty sad I get banned for an argument I did not even start and then on top of it the guy that starts it comes back with another ID right after and he's not even banned for that. Really sad the way this site is run. |

In unrelated personal fantasy news, Draisaitl seems to have fallen off a cliff and the habs still don't know when the flying (frank) to pull a goaltender.

Disagree with Asplund he has been playing pro hockey for a while now.
Carrier agree, I just see him as a serviceable 4th line winger moving forward. A lot of things I have read have described him as finally putting it all together.
Bailey and Baptiste haven't gotten a lot of points...playing 4th line minutes...in mostly d zone starts...with another rookie playing center...are we surprised? I think it's fair to say if Ennis, Gus and Marcus are three quarters of what you want to turn over they can take a few of those spots up that's all.
Personally I think a top pairing defender would do more for this team than anything else, but that is a digression. |

The debate I'm having is more towards the future of what players are going to step in for what rolls next man up . Kane , Ennis , Marcus ,Gus are not here - GERBE!!!75PTS
All to be determined still
None of the guys u mentioned I'm giving up on yet
They've all had spurts of being good
We just have to find the right role for them, or move on like u suggest
I think we're headed in the right direction though
And Bylsma's goal of 95pts this year seems about right
That'll put us right on the fringe of making the playoffs
Hopefully we can sneak in |

They need another high end player, preferably on the blue line. I still think you could package this years pick with a couple somethings to make that happen. |

With Kane having a foot out the door, and Reinhart looking more and more like a complimentary player each game, they need another high end forward too. |

See I disagree with giving him that tag. He's not Eichel and hes not Risto. Hes not going to take over a game or anchor a blueline but calling him a complimentary player the way you'd call Kane or Okposo a complimentary guy is just insulting. Hes right up there with O'Reilly, a core player, someone you need to win. Having said that, They already have someoen like that in ROR and they may very well have to come to the same decision the oilers did with Hall re: acquiring a d-man at a very steep price. |

It might be insulting but it's pretty close to the truth. When Eichel isn't generating the scoring chances, they are few and far between when Reinhart is on the ice.
He makes some nice passes, and even some nice defensive plays, but he doesn't make his linemates better, and doesn't score goals when the defense is focused on him. That's not a franchise player.
This isn't me saying trade him, or he sucks. He just isn't a high end top line player. We have 1 of those.

Like maybe some consistent moderating. Add more if they have to. But lately it's been out of control with the trolls. It wouldn't rise to the level of personal attacks if it had been nipped in the bud in the first place.
And the ads, don't even get me started on the ads... |

I dont know about that. He seems to set up a decent amount of chances in the o-zone and as far as making his teammates better im pretty sure every line he goes on he instantly brings the possession numbers up by a significant amount, which on this team is quite a feat.
I think hes a first line winger and even better so when playing with 15. But as you pointed out, what he brings is already well covered partly by o'reilly and by eichel and while id love to keep him, you cant not seriously consider offers that include high end d-men. The offense can survive if you move reinhart and replace him with a different trade or free agent signing. The same cannot be said about the d-core. |
