Other than Nylander and Guhle, I'm not too confident we have any potential gems left in our system. Bailey seems career AHL start, just an extra body at the NHL level. I think it's too early to give up, but if someone wanted him bad enough and the offer was a young defenseman he'd be gone.
Girgensons, Bailey, 1st rd pick for Trouba - sskkoo1
bailey, fasching, baptiste, pu, asplund, carrier, nylander up front

Bailey was asked to switch from RW to LW. He was the best player by a long shot in the prospects camp. Better than Fasching, and better than Baptiste. Bailey and Carrier both stood out.
They need to play all of these guys more than 8 minutes in a game

Exactly. Not going to find the score sheet too often playing so little...what do we expect? They've generated some chances. Grant I think slows the two of them down and that a better center might go a ways towards getting both going.

It's going to do nothing for them. I seriously have no idea what Bailey did wrong in his 5 or 6 shifts against Toronto on the 4th line. They mixed them up for the 2nd period and they were fine. See how they do with some talent

I wonder if they're just giving everybody a shot while they're close to home and making a decision based on NHL game action.

Watched them twice this year and while he's on a great team...he's leading a great team in points. With Max Jones there and Kuokkanen he's got help (Mete and Juolevi on the back end). At the same point he was the best player on either team both times I watched. May turn into quite the steal.
Edit: 8th in points in the OHL right now just checked, leading the Knights in points by 4

It would make sense if they were. Tell each and every one of them that they are playing for a future spot right now and to give 110% if they want it. I think Fasching, Baptiste and Bailey all look very hungry...I wouldn't be surprised if Carrier plays with similar fire for this exact reason.

It's not that these guys won't turn into decent NHLers, it's just they are all years away so anything can happen, but I do like a lot of our guys. I just think Nylander and Guhle are the two that you can say more likely than not they have an NHL future. Maybe Petersen too.

I'd give them bailey, girgens and 2 seconds
how does it fit under the cap? - homiedclown
I'd make that trade all day if they would accept it. I would also offer Trouba 6 year 5M per. With Franson and Possibily Kuli coming off the books at the end of this year we can cover him long term. Gorges frees up 4 million more at the end of next year, this year if Vegas takes him.
With McCabe's game progressing, he might be a match with Risto by next year, so we could have
Risto -McCabe
Truba- Kuli/Bogo pick one, move the other
Gorges-Nelson-Guhle

Im fairly certain any conversation for trouba would start with McCabe, which im still comfortable doing.

This will never happen with guys like gionta sticking around. I get that hes playing well and stuff but hes not the future those guys are and they should be trying to make it work for them. Thing with Bailey is he never seems to actually be a threat. the speed, tenacity and everything is all there but it seems to create nothing useful.

I like Borgen and Fitzgerald - Sabresfan-365
As do I, Borgen has been impressive, but both are a solid 3 years or more away. On the defense, I see Guhle as our guy in waiting with nothing else really coming close to the NHL for some time. And, this draft doesn't seem to be defenseman heavy so unless there's a trade, Guhle will probably be the only guy we see in a Sabres jersey for 2-3 years.

He had 34 goals in his last 57 junior games, and 20 in the AHL last year.
I don't think he's a future 30 goal guy by any means but a top 9 player. I mean I'd trade him for the right guy but it sounds like they are grooming him to replace Kane on the left side
