He will probably be a scratch a lot when they are healthy. They are a cup contending team with a deep roster.
You know where he wouldn't be a healthy scratch.... - sbroads24
I wouldn't have hated if we traded a 3rd for him
Especially with Eichel & Kane out
Rather have him in the lineup than Grant
He's gotta start scoring some goals though
Does StL use Yakupov on the PP?
That would be ideal since u wouldn't have to worry about his defensive liabilities
A true gentleman and long time friend was put in the ground today. He taught me many things: what I know about bravery, and something about patience. He showed me strength, shared a small portion of his immense wisdom, and gave me grace. We have laughed together many many times.
He will be missed.
It's Redbreast tonight, friends. Tip one for Cro. We're worse off without him. - Der Kaiser
My condolences . Just had a lifelong friend I met in University call me Today . Diagnosed with Pancreatic and Lung cancer. Not a good day for either of us.

I'm not sure. I think he rarely plays. But he's produced well in a small sample. If anyone can tell me he'd be worse to have than Ennis or Grant on the PP than I don't know what to say.
It would make sense if they were. Tell each and every one of them that they are playing for a future spot right now and to give 110% if they want it. I think Fasching, Baptiste and Bailey all look very hungry...I wouldn't be surprised if Carrier plays with similar fire for this exact reason. - RhinoFan
Makes sense
We project to have 3 open forward slots next season
Gionta- ufa
Deslauriers- 13th forward
Moulson/Foligno/Girgensons- Vegas
The 4 guys u mention above, plus Nylander,
seem to be competing for those 3 possible openings
gionta may very well come back next year - homiedclown
He's playing well enough that it looks like a possibility
My guess would be that they wait until the season is over, and evaluate where some of the young guys are at
If they feel they aren't ready to step in,
Then maybe they bring back Gionta for 1 more season

I think Grant gets the PP2 time bc he's a center & is better at face offs than Larsson and Girgensons
If one of those guys could up theor percentage,
I bet they'd get a shot

I heard it's up to gionta
they had a 1 year deal on the table before season started

right now, i'd roll foligno, larsson and gionta on the second unit and not look back

Larsson is under 48% though
Tough to have a good PP if you're wasting 20sec (or more) to go retrieve the puck from your own end & then get it back in the zone & set up
I actually just checked,
& Girgensons is above 54%, so maybe he'll get a shot

The extra 6% doesnt make up for the fact that at this point Larsson is doing much more offensively, which is saying something.

Competition breeds results. Nylander I think is as close to a sure thing as you can get...so really we have Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching and Carrier all battling for 2 bottom 6 spots. Wonder if they are showcasing them all as trade bait as well.
