"As a whole" is maybe the wrong term. I think I can fairly say the majority, though. |

In the sense that he didn't post a string of idiotic political cartoons, sure.
But he's a loser through and through. Pretending he didn't mean to be bigoted in his post doesn't change what he is. |

unless you spend way more money than it'd cost to just integrate people into our society, to patrol borders and maybe even build a wall... you can't stop people from roaming the woods to get here. They're gonna do it. All you can do is be ready for them when they come. |

Majority, perhaps. I know my personal experiences growing up are about as far from the norm in this country as it gets, but it astonishes me how much hate there is in this country.

But if you can make it a more frustrating and ultimately pointless venture, it'll become a lot less common. Australia is notoriously isolationist, but I can't say they're wrong on this policy either |

Southwest, south of Swift Current.
Dude, when the Catholic Church where I grew up got a black priest, people wrote letters to the bishop to complain about them letting one of "those people" in their town. |

But what's the benefit of this? At the end of the day, immigrants, whether they come here legally or not, help a lot more than they hurt.
If the concern is that these people are dying in the woods... this doesn't solve that. They're just going to run into the same problem somewhere else. Sure, they're not dying on your border, but they'll be just as dead somewhere else.
The humanitarian answer is to pay for patrols to bring them in, and then take them through the process of getting integrated.
The economical answer is probably to let them find their own way, and start contributing when/if they find a way to safety.
Kicking them out, or preventing them from getting in doesn't help anybody. |

People evolve, and when they gain further information on a given topic, they may soften their POV, or even change it.
When people are young, and don't have life experience, they tend to grasp onto the popular view points of the day, and after living life, paying taxes and gaining life experience, and seeing the same issues over and over again, and never getting resolved....... they tend to change their POV on some issues. - D0PPELGANGER

gotta admit i like that if even one person tells d0pps he won he shuts the (frank) up.
maybe people should just respond to his stupidity with "ok"
then there's nobody for him to fight with and he'll move on to the product review section of amazon.com or wherever else he posts his politics bullpoop like a (frank)ing idiot. |

Well that's (frank)ed. But as I said, we have our share of biggots, there's no denying that. I've seen confederate flags flown proudly in Ontario. I think by and large these are people who see the forward/left march of society and have an in-grown need to rail against it... and the more society becomes more progressive, the more they feel the need to overcompensate. Some of them probably think they're just gaining experience that allows them to see the world as it is, and expect others to eventually agree with them... and get even angrier when they don't.
By and large it's impotent rage though, that manifests itself with conspiracy theories and political cartoons. There will always be crazies that will act out violently, but you'll never fully stamp that out.
The important point here is that this isn't the majority of sentiment. |

A lot of it here is born from ignorance. There are people out here who live in houses that don't have doors.
Mark Lamb talks about driving over the hill to Swift Current to go play hockey when he was 14 or 15 and thinking he would never find his way around such a huge place. There were like 12,000 people in town. |

It's such a crazy coincidence that the parties that benefit from these groups also seem to hate making it easy for people to get educated. |

It's a really weird place here. You've got some of the richest people in the country living next door to some of the poorest.
People with 5,000+ acre farms live next to folks who have been farming the same 500 acres for decades and have no money because they're terrible at it. BUT, they get get enough gov't subsidies to keep going and living in their preposterously poopty situations. |

Read it.
Dictatorship != Left leaning ideals.
Anyone who read that article and felt it made a valid point is an idiot.
TRIGGER WARNING! I'm not calling you an idiot dopps, because you didn't say you agree with it or not. You just posted an article that fits with your ideology(the only type of article you read), and took a jab at people who disagree with you. I have no way of knowing if you agree with that poorly written opinion piece. - Feeling Glucky?
You're making a lot of assumptions, again, but that's typical of Progressives, right? |

Funny enough, it's not that different in the city. I used to rent a place on a street where homes went for millions of dollars, and the next street over (George street) is home to some of the most miserable conditions you'll see in the city, where garbage can fires in winter aren't at all out of place.

What a typically conservative assumption and generalization.
And also, great grasp of numbers there. 1 = a lot. Fantastic stuff. |
