Again, zero context. These people grew up in a place where the only news source you had in any consistent manner was 3 AM radio channels. If the phone company wasn't owned by the province, there wouldn't be any cellular service.
They owned cancelled service for rotary phones a couple years ago.

How could anyone possibly live this way? And who farms in Canada? Isn't it winter 9/12 months of the year? Do they just grow ivy? - PhillySportsGuy
I mean, Saskatchewan alone exported almost $15 billion worth of grains, peas and oil seeds across the world, producing 35 million US tons of food, but yeah it seems pretty silly, doesn't it?

Truth is we're producing a lot of food and it isn't anywhere close to enough. Problem is that because we're producing such a high quantity, it's requiring more and more fertilizer.
Well, the food gets shipped elsewhere, so the nutrients that are harvested from the soil and the crops stay where the food gets eaten, right? We're gonna have ourselves a fertilizer shortage sometime soon, and we're already not keeping up production with the rate of global population growth.

maybe we should all take dumps in buckets and ship them to you
Legitimately might have to consider shipping in poop from China and India. - BINGO!
I think microbiology is the answer - we need to figure out how to use the power of nitrogen fixing bacteria on a massive scale
We should have people studying different types of symbioses, its kind of pathetic we don't even really have a good understanding of how much we rely on bacteria to survive

The only pleasure I take from Trump is how agitated he makes the media.
