In theory, I agree with you. This is a rational argument but it fails to take contracts, business and personal relationships into account. Nothing is black and white. Hansen took less money because he wanted to stay in Vancouver and the NTC was leveraged by Gillis.
I'm all for asset management, and hansen may waive at the TDL, but it's selfish and naive to suggest we run him out of town because he has trade value in a no-win season - Max.Betts
Hansen has a limited NTC. He can't say no to being traded, he just has some control to where he goes. Full NTC/NMC is where you can say no to a trade.

Just because I thought the NHL would suspend him has absolutely nothing to do with whether I liked it as a hockey hit or do I think guy should need to fight for every single big hit they lay.
And btw, its (frank)ing stupid that guys "have" to fight when they crush a guy. - SameOld

so you thought it was dirty/illegal/suspension worthy from the comfort of your tv but hansen is supposed to determine how the league will adjudicate a FIVE MINUTE MAJOR PENALTY when thinking about whether to seek immediate retribution.

Dorsett isn't much of a fighter. - golfingsince
thankfully he's acknowledged it to himself and fought accordingly. there is absolutely no need to get your face caved in every game b/c the team doesn't have a legit heavyweight. (and no i'm not advocating dressing a goon).
Trade the twins there too and pay half their salaries, take back the Grabo contract and the Kulemin contract, that's what they should be doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - LeftCoaster

Remember when Gionta was a dirty scumbag and needed 20 games for this?

Very impressive run he is on ...looks like a keeper - Redmile247
Yeah, and they had a good draft this year.
Tunsil, Howard looks like he could become a good corner if he can get healthy, Drake and Grant both with return TD's this year. Even Caroo should contribute down the road once Stills moves on.
Need a draft like that focused on the secondary and LB's......throw in a guard.
