It's pretty clear Laine is going to be a superstar and Matthews will just be a really good player. Probably a star, but not on the level of Ovechkin, Crosby , McDavid. I'd say Matthews will be in the Kopitar class. - dshiddy

Still fuming about yesterday .... how come Leafers can come into this thread make vile comments and promote cowardly acts like Martin going after Stecher and other young Canucks but we have to take it and can't answer back...?
This on the back of the Kadri act... as said:
This is precisely the kind of hit the league has been trying to take out of the game for over a decade but, with this decision, they’ve sent the clear message that maybe it’s not that big a deal; that under some circumstances, you can track a player from behind, launch yourself at him and contact his head when he’s at his most vulnerable.
And the Leafers think they have the moral high ground too.... - Nuck4U
The sad part is apparently that kind of hit isn't the kind they're trying to get rid of, I think Lebrun said Jackets GM brought it up to GMs last season and didn't get any support really. I didn't like the hit, it is a dirty play, but for whatever reason it's not against the rules.. apparently blindside hits don't matter, which is a joke.

Matthews isn't a generational talent like Mcjesus Cros or OV...but he's going to be damn good. Kopi is a pretty good comparison...but Matthews probably won't play tougher hockey like Kopitar can...remains to be seen I guess.

Does it matter....who cares....maybe you really are a closeted Leaf blower ...
You take every opportunity to disparage the Canucks and their fans but are first on the scene defending the Laughs.... what a duplicitous self righteous troglodyte. - Nuck4U
Jesus christ, you're dumb. And I'm not just talking about your last couple posts.

It's only a matter of time before they look at blindside checks regardless of shoulder to shoulder or whatever. It's coming.

I honestly cant tell if youre (frank)ing with me or not. It is way too early to tell, I just couldnt restrain myself with someone gloating about how he knew the best pick and then saying the other has already reached his potential.
It is equally as likely that after 30 games goalies start to pick up on Laine's release, and considering that 8 of his 11 points are goals (including 4 PP goals) its a small indication that his overall game isnt there yet. Matthews looks like he wont be the dominant like McDavid (his speed is unmatched right now), but has shown some all around scoring ability. Its far too early to figure out what either's scoring and playmaking abilities are, both look like future all stars and both franchises are lucky to have them

Take away Matthews first game and he only has 2 goals on the season.

Botchford found this play from a few years back on how Kadri should've gone at Daniel:
Looks violent but I would rather see body on body like this 100/100 than what happened the other night

You honestly are a horrible representation of a Canucks fan on these boards. If I am being brutally honest, you are like 90% of fans who "claim" to be a Canuck fan and that know absolutely nothing about the team while claiming to know absolutely everything. You have been on these boards for a little under/over a month and already top 5 for "roll eyes at the site of your name being posted". Come on man, relax. You are throwing jabs at posters who have been here for years and years and you come in with these obnoxious claims on people. Give your head a shake. Respect is earned and not given and frankly you are doing a HORRIBLE job in what little time you have been here in trying to earn that respect.

I hate to sound like a jerk, as I find for the most part I am an even tempered posted. I just dislike people who fly off the handle when people speak realistically about the Canucks.
The Canucks are losers of 8 straight... WELL THEY HAVE HAD INJURIES!!!!
The Canucks can't score goals.... WELL THEY HAVE HAD BAD BOUNCES!!!
The Canucks are terribly disciplined.... WELL THE REFS HATE US!!!!
Seriously FFS. People need to give their head a shake. This team isn't very good. The sooner these fanboys realize this, the more enjoyable these comments will be.

While I agree with the sentiment of people whining and making excuses for a team thats not as good as they want it to be, truth is the little injustices seem to hurt people more when your team isn't very good to begin with. Kinda feels like "Oh we can't score to save our lives AND the refs are poopting on us."

You aren't a fan of your team if you say something negative about them. Clearly you aren't a fan. Cheer them on win or lose, through the good times and bad times. But never acknowledge the bad times, because that makes you a bad fan.
