Oh yes, you have to expect a ban when you tell a Mod to F-off... and that Mod happens to be Dozzer.

I was pissed I missed the poop show the night of the game. I came in the next morning guns a blazing. Probably the last ban of the whole affair.

I was kind of like the last guy to get killed in the Vietnam War.

Imagine how much that sucked.

so at what point are we going to divide up into teams: circle jerkers/lemmings, drama queens, chicken littles.

if we want to get our uniforms by Festivus, we should get organized quickly!

i'm just looking forward to getting together for the airing of the grievances and the feats of strength (team dragon will have a distinct advantage ).

I'm in for the circle jerk.. I'll even bring crackers, cause im salty like that.

Meh, we put up with it maybe one or two games a season. The slobs over in leafland have to put up with it every day for the last 10+ years.

Carol's blogs usually generate 300 to 500 posts per blog (on average). Last game generated over 1500 posts. Obviously lots of trolling went on. Probably too much considering the trolling generated over 1000 posts.

But I was glad to see our group attack someone else instead of each other.

a little clarification pls... are we talking about putting up with trolling or losing?

anyway, as you mention, it is nice to see our group unite.

Now let's see if the Canucks can unite on the ice in Brooklyn tonight.

Hansen's out, Chaput makes his Canucks debut, Miller starts and Edler might be back. Here's the new blog:

If we have learned anything from last game, losing and trolling go hand in hand. Can't have one without the other.

I don't spend much time in the Leaf thread, it just seems like posters from other teams are routinely banned if they go in there. I guess as we lose more, tolerance for the trolling will decrease in here.

Then there is the Leaf face of Leaf posters in their own blog and the face they put on when visiting our blog.

There is definitely a difference.

being respectful in your blog doesn't necessarily mean that someone agrees with your opinions or even has any respect for your behavior or your fanbase as a whole.

It likely means that they have a few people they like to interact with in your fanbase, and that they think your blog isn't the place to call you out on your BS.

... took me a while to get used to that with other fans who are friendly in our blog and much less so on their on blog even though I am the same way.

I have seen some of your posts in the Leaf blog and thought, that fecker!, and then some of your posts over here, and hmmm okay, I can see what he is saying, at least he isn't being an asshat....

I almost responded to one of your Leaf posts, wanted to copy to this thread, but thought it wouldn't be appropriate, enough sh1t flying around.

alot of stuff is just talk. but I guess it comes down to act appropriately for your environment.

I think the toughest thing for me to keep in mind is that it isn't fair or correct to judge an entire fanbase by the reactions of some people. I have a real tough time remembering that sometimes.

Even people I like are not going to be on the same page as me. Some of my fave Vancouver fans had reactions and opinions the last few days that I don't agree with or understand.

... then I remember that I some similar things to say that they wouldn't like. There is a difference between the person and the opinion, especially when they are p*ssed off, and especially when the rivalry extends beyond the rink, which it clearly does between Toronto and Vancouver.

Some people though, do take things too far, on both sides.

As long as we all agree that ANY team would be better than the Habs for winning the cup, it's all good

here's my issue: it certainly is much easier to sound rational and reserved when you're on the right side of the score, hit, standings and/or organizational optimism.

coming in during an obviously contentious discussion only to point out how people are acting/speaking unreasonably comes across as smug and self congratulatory.

i understand that you have called out your own but when you're in a canucks' thread after a bad loss with questionable hits, the unreasonable posters will be more plentiful from the homeside just by virtue of the anger. and your admonitions reflect that disparity.

so you've certainly tsk tsked a few leafs posters but the over all tone is one of condescension towards this thread and by extension a certain (large?) percentage of this fan base (even if you don't intend it as such.)

a final point i'll make is that i found it interesting that when the "battle" was fresh, you pointed out how the leafs thread has had to deal with this stuff for years. what that says to me (even if you won't admit it) is that there is definitely a level of schadenfreude and "you guys deserve this" mentality.

other than that,

i doubt it. i think that expression is just as it sounds. trying to diminish someone's light by "throwing shade."

although, who knows?
