The NHL has rescinded one of two game misconduct penalties issued to Ryan Miller on Saturday and he won't be suspended.
(2/2) Two game misconducts in one game is a minimum two-game suspension (Rule 403b). #Canucks |

First and foremost I want an outward commitment to rebuilding thru the draft, which means letting go of this idea that "this year is all about winning". I've said from the beginning of the year this is such a fallacy considering the players they currently have...it's becoming embarrassing.
I want them to sell off assets for first, second or third round draft picks and pick as many times as they can until they get it right. The defence is shaping up nicely with Gudbranson, Juolevi, Stecher, Tryamkin, Hutton etc. but we desperately need some offensively talented skilled guys. - LeftCoaster

I understand the sentiment. But I don't think there are too many assets to sell off if the club states they want to remain competitive- even if they are struggling.
The best case scenario is just to ride out the season and if you can trade anyone for picks at tdl (or sooner), then do so, and hold onto our own picks and go from there.
we know the Sedins aren't going anywhere and beyond Burrows, I don't think we have any pending ufa's... maybe Miller? |

Good he was just trying to protect a 5'9 rookie from some 4th line scrub who doesn't belong in the NHL.

Have as look for yourself. Toronto tops the list.
I don't think it's coincidence that teams which don't have many televised games (Arizona, Nashviille, Carolina) all seem to have far less suspensions than others. The league can only use what it has available to them. - B-Wforever
i guess i was wrong... the leafs aren't building a goon team. they've always been a goon team.
reilly fits right in.
thanks for clarifying. |

If they're not selling assets at the TDL there's something seriously dysfunctional about the organization. They'll have completely lost me if that happens. I can certainly stomach losing with kids, but not like this, as I said earlier...it's embarrassing. |

They're Afraid the old "mausoleum" days come back when no one shoes up to the games because we were so bad and the ticket revenue dries up. How many season ticket holders would still go is the big question |

What really frosts my apples is I could see this coming two years ago but people being paid millions to see it can not? I don't think any professional manager could miss it. Something is going on that we haven't heard about. I'm pretty sure I can guess what it is and it has cost two years of wasted time and p1ss-poor decisions |

They've gotta have enough foresight to see beyond that, or the franchise is inevitably doomed until they have an owner who understands that. |

it's at the point where it doesn't matter. the crowds have figured out that this team cannot compete. even if they go all out to win now, they'll be mediocre/bad and the fans will still stay away.
hansen is the only one with real value that is tradeable (aside from those that should be part of the rebuild.) if benning isn't gauging his trade value (or at least open to trading him), this team is entirely lost. |

Kadri hit was clean enough. He has a rep for being a knob but that hit was fine. |

I might get in trouble here for saying this but do you know what Aqulilini 's reputation before buying a share of the Canucks was? SLUMLORD
Slumlords are only interested in the mighty dollar.
I'd love to have another owner who knows another billionaire willing to buy this poppy show right now? |

I like Hansen and think he's become a better pro each year he's played. Shame he's probably our most marketable asset because of his low salary. |
