True. Hansen is valuable as well but there is no bloody way we can trade Hansen now he's our bloody best player.

I was one of the few that lobbied for a Tanev trade after his big praise from the WHC. It makes sense for the team. He's soft and fragile and long term as good as he is defensively he is only gonna play about 45 games/yr. People see to forget the WHC is primarily a no-hit tourney where Tanev could really shine…now that he's crashing and banged around in the west is it really beneficial for the team to keep him here long term?

- LordHumungous

that's exactly why. strike while is value is high.

i know that it makes the team worse, on the ice and in the room. however, there is no way to avoid the pain. same reason to trade tanev. i like his game a lot but he may be worth more to the canucks in trade than the value he brings on the ice.

You're forgetting when he TURTLED against jooris

Ahaha you mean when Kadri laid another perfectly clean hit, and proceed to get slashed and jumped?

Hmm getting jumped unsuspectingly. Weird, almost like that happened last night

I'm fine right now.

There's no self-pity, I cheer for the cubs and dolphins. Losing is nothing new.

It's amazing that you spend so much time here considering you said earlier Canucks fans made HB unbearable.

- golfingsince

No, he said he makes HB unbearable for Canuck fans.

It's a pretty cruel world out there. Kind of amazing the Leafs continue to play in a league that in continually so unjust to them.

I dont think they are the problem they were always slow. They need to keep speed on their line.

WD sucks. 3 of us have been complaining about it for a couple years. I wanted him to adapt and get better as he was new to the NHL but it is quite clear that will never happen.

- thundachunk

and the longer he's here the worse the team seems to get. Do it sooner than later.

Having both gloves on and getting attacked by a guy with none as youre standing flat footed seems pretty unsuspecting to me..

Just because Hansen was mad Kadri got a penalty for hitting too hard, doesn't mean he can just jump a guy.

Kadri is always innocent

fined 4 times for diving last year alone but it's a CONSPIRACY

if you're watching a guy skate from the blue line at you and you call it unsuspecting, you may wish to consult your optometrist.

Who's saying the league is unjust to the Leafs?

Don't think we could be happier about the direction this team is moving in. Unlike canucks fans and their team.

Weird. If I was on the ice and hit a high profile player in the head I'd be expecting someone to jump me.

Another oddity is that they'd call a charging penalty on a totally clean hit. It's almost, that's almost as though you're kind of clueless to reality.

lol. leaf fans have never been overexcited puppy dogs at the end of october/beginning of november.

this is why the trolls love you guys. it's this optimism that they crush in your thread from february to april.

In theory, I agree with you. This is a rational argument but it fails to take contracts, business and personal relationships into account. Nothing is black and white. Hansen took less money because he wanted to stay in Vancouver and the NTC was leveraged by Gillis.

I'm all for asset management, and hansen may waive at the TDL, but it's selfish and naive to suggest we run him out of town because he has trade value in a no-win season
