Weird. If I was on the ice and hit a high profile player in the head I'd be expecting someone to jump me.
Another oddity is that they'd call a charging penalty on a totally clean hit. It's almost, that's almost as though you're kind of clueless to reality. - golfingsince
In the head?? Are you serious haha
That's exactly why it wasn't a suspension, because it wasn't in the head. |

In theory, I agree with you. This is a rational argument but it fails to take contracts, business and personal relationships into account. Nothing is black and white. Hansen took less money because he wanted to stay in Vancouver and the NTC was leveraged by Gillis.
I'm all for asset management, and hansen may waive at the TDL, but it's selfish and naive to suggest we run him out of town because he has trade value in a no-win season - Max.Betts
i hear what your saying and my attitude is similar to yours even if i do want to trade away a lot of players.
i would never run anyone out of town least of all the good soldiers of this organization. i would have a rational and honest conversation with the players i wanted to trade (who have NTC/NMC). let them know exactly what the organization sees and ask them to waive. should they not, end of discussion. i would never threaten waivers or turn the relationship frosty if they decline.
but, there is a middle ground between keeping the good vets and running them out of town. |

why not go to the leafs thread and argue with these guys about the hit. clearly, they are obnoxious homers.
I think he definitely gets suspended. He knew it too..... It was a dirty hit and I'm sure he knows it
- ClarksonDavid
Ya how dare he throw a clean hit in a hockey game. The kadri hit was bad but there was nothing wrong with the rielly hit - westcoastleaf
Kadri hit will be a suspension for sure.

Just because he hit his shoulder first doesn't mean he didn't hit him in the head.
You'd probably be fine with someone on your team taking that kind of hit though right?
That would explain why you figure Kadri was jumped unsuspectingly. |

At least MM didn't go after an unsuspecting Stecher.

I'm posting this once and once only in this thread. Leaf fans stay out of this thread, you're just inciting more agrevation by posting here, even the slightest bit of trolling or ignorant comments yoy will be gone. - Yeti1181
Thanks Yeti, looks like a real poop show in here last night. Wouldn't you know it the one night all hell breaks loose and I had other commitments.
I am now back in Ottawa and will be able to commit more time here, I see there was quite a few bans handed out last night, on both sides, hope it was fun and worth it.
I'll now finish reading the blog and see how many took Yeti's words to heart.

You could translate that through interpretive dance at the next Fringe Festival so that some of the Leaf fans could understand it, too. |

He wants to send Hansen to the ECHL as a message to the rest of the NTCs on the team. Seems pretty obvious. |

He should have been expecting it because of what happened earlier when 190lb Dorsett went after 200lb Komarov. |

I thought it was a suspension at first as well. Until I saw the pictures from the other side of the ice which clearly showed shoulder to shoulder, skates on the ice and arm tucked tight to the body. |

Couldn't understand why some posters were upset with Dorsett going with Komarov, Komorov is worse than Burrows. |
