Do liquor stores even actually sell 5th? What's a standard bottle, a 4th? - sskkoo1
A fifth is a unit of volume formerly used for distilled beverages in the United States, equal to one fifth of a US liquid gallon, 4⁄5 quart, or 25 3⁄5 US fluid ounces (757 ml); it has been superseded by the metric bottle size of 750 ml, which is the standard capacity of wine bottles world-wide and is approximately 1% .. |

I am pretty sure that's how it goes around here |

I took the fbi clearing her recently as proof there is something going on behind the scenes. The amount of emails this time around was vast in comparison to the first time and was cleared up in a miraculous amount of time. Perhaps I am off base though and I am just reaching. - Orphen22

Yeah I think a lot of people overreacted with keeping Johnson. He was good but I feel like he is a "in-betweener." Too good to be a backup but not good enough to be a starter. Nilsson has done an admirable job so far, and like you said he can be shipped out if need be. I know this team has ullmark in the pipeline so im assuming he will eventually be replaced - gerbe42
I know it won't happen if we're in the playoff hunt. But, if we become sellers I really see us with at least 3 second rd picks, and 4 third round picks. I know Murray will trade them away for crap, but I wish he would use them to upgrade into getting more picks in the first round. I really think we need to start putting quality in our farm system, not quantity. |

It's funny because I remember people in here freaking out at the beginning of last season that Murray should have brought someone better in behind Lehner. - HonkFortheGoose
I remember that Johnson proved a lot of people wrong. Even I was amazed |

Right, I knew a 5th referred to 1/5 gallon, but I was unsure what the standard 750 ml came out to ounce wise. But thanks for clearing things up. |

He mentioned that when he was hired. He has moved out a bunch ,what he got is still developing and tbd. We got so used to having a chit ton of prospects that now that it has been purged of non nhl type players. We are worried we have nothing in the cupboard . |

In hindsight while we had quantity we certainly didn't have quality.....

True. But, what we have left that will be available in the next two seasons are: Bailey, Bap, Carr, Fash, and they all seem like the same style of player to me. Fast, but grinders, none of the will pot more than 12 goals in a full season. Other than Nylander, I think we need to find a couple of snipers to play the wings for Eichel, RoR, and Reinhart. And, at least one more top-end defense prospect wouldn't hurt. Guhle is great, but he's about all we have. |

The only ones that I really miss is McNabb and Lemieux. I mean I get it, he didn't want to sign here according to TM but you couldn't see that in camp that year.
I mean, I don't know how we couldn't work something out on that front.
Trading hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20, but that trade took my breath away when I saw it, specifically because of Lemieux. We'll see how it pans out, but I've got to say it ain't looking that good now. |

Need to draft some dangle type players. Those seem to be in the early first round . Not easy to get them unless we are at the bottom of the league. Couple of the players we have coming up could still turn into that sniper type. I hope so anyways |

McNabb hurt more than Zadorov? I know we got O'Reilly because of the latter but I saw that as the bigger loss. I haven't really followed McNabb too much since the trade but I didn't see Risto or Zadorov potential in him. And I think I was too excited about getting kane at the time to care about Lemieux too much. Now, not so excited. |

Agreed. But if we pick let's say 10th and we see a sniper who should be there at 6, I would like to think that we could cash in a handful of 2nds and 3rds, maybe at a prospect (Bailey or Bap) to jump up and grab that sniper. It's a heavy price, but if we're not really in the hunt by the deadline I hope we sell, we have some decent pieces that I know other teams would want for the playoffs, and I don't want to see them walk for nothing. |

You also have to think about what the traded picks could have been. We sent away pick #39 in 2014, picks #21, #25, #31 in 2015, there would have been at least one stud in those for picks.

Perhaps it was a personal thing with me, I always like McNabb, he had snarl the other prospects didn't at defense I felt. Really haven't kept up too much with him but I believe he's logging decent minutes for the Kings where Zadorov can't seem to crack the NHL roster I thought. |

Nylander? - HonkFortheGoose
Looking forward to the potential 1PP unit of
Nylander - Eichel - Reinhart
McCabe - Risto
EDIT:
Thinking about it...2PP forwards would be:
Kane - ROR - Okposo

A liter has a tad short of 33 shots in it.
A 750ml has 24/25 shots. |

I would agree with you that McNabb did have the nasty side to his game that I liked. I always remember the huge hits he would have near center ice. I haven't followed Zadorov either . If its true, that's sad to be honest. I don't wish misfortune on former sabres and wanted to see him succeed. |

Sure, of course, I wasn't suggesting Murray shouldn't have made the trades, just that we have to look at the whole picture of the trades, not just the guys shipped out of here. Those picks (Especially the ones the 2015 draft) had the potential to land some real gem prospects. Of course it's all hindsight now, but the Lehner trade (and, I like Lehner) left Konecny on the board. Would have, could have, should have, but would you trade Lehner right now for Konecny? |
