Other examples are countless, with Deboer, laviolette, cooper in recent memory changing the fortunes of the team and deep in playoffs, Laviolette winning the cup.
Yes coaching CAN change the fortunes of the team. IF you pick well that is.

I agree, a coaching change is needed. It may not be WD's fault but what else do you do. There needs to be a shake up but it's not like we can trade half the team right now. Losing becomes contagious! Just like winning. A different voice, someone to come in and give a different prospective. Did you hear WD interview today? He sounds defeated.

I'd like to see Willie fired; a fresh start even if it means we lose a bunch more games. This team cannot win with this system. And the players looks so defeated. They SHOULD draw strength and passion from their coaches..

Id say maybe the right names arent available right now, but in interm Jarvis could handle the team, see what he can do as HC. He's done so well with the D changes so give him a shot. Maybe he's the right guy beyond that maybe not.

then why wasnt the pens doing better before the change? Point is the coaching change turned it around. That is inarguable.
and Deboer was in NJ when they went to the final in his 1st season. They went from no playoffs to SCF....
