I said before seasons start if healthy this is an 85+ point team at best.

We are not healthy and aren't going to be anytime soon. We have a team full of soft fragile players that won't ever play 82 game full schedules. Tough to put a good product on the ice when 80% of your players don't get to the 55 game mark.

Not healthy we are a bottom 10 club there is positively no getting around it until big changes come.

I want to say, regardless of what faction you are part of, this could work out if we get a top 3 pick.

But it won't be an intentional tank and we still don't have many assets that could be traded for more picks in the draft.

We are going to have to expect a lot other teams fans to come in here in the next little while. Easy target for digs at 0-9 lol. To be a fly on the wall in Jim Benning or FA's office right now. Things must be pretty hectic.

I was going to comment on an earlier post about Linden, and this is along the same lines. We understand from the outside it looks like chaos is setting in, but if they dont do anything here (no trades, no firings) then I think there is absolute autonomy from the top down, which I think is what we should all want. These guys cannot be oblivious to the media and opinions league-wide on their team, so I dont really think it would be that hectic, they had to have known there was little room for error or injury for a moderately successful season

Most likely, only those born with these abilities knows them, but if you also werent born with them you cannot be taught, unless you were born with the ability to teach those born without abilities... its tough to say who holds what power because I wasnt born with the ability to identify those things

Ditto. If Benning changes coaches mid season it just tells me that he still thinks, that with just a couple of tweets, this is a competitive team. Might as well wait until there are more options in the summer.

Some would argue the worst thing they can do is make moves from panic.
Some would ague not doing anything would prolong this agony.
Fans of both the Canucks and other teams will whine no matter WHAT happens.

I am very much in favour of bringing in Dale Tallon, maybe as an ASST GM? A new face, with a successful history and a good drafting/trading resume might be good for management.

But somehow "a long time ago" is so much better than "never"

I mean...."NEVER". Wow. Not once. Ever

He's President of Hockey Operations. Can't see him taking a job reporting to Jim Benning.

I dont think Cubs fans were bragging to newer franchises on their last worlds series win for the past 40+ years... the league has changed so much in the past 30+ years that the Leaf's last cup is about as relevant as the Millionaire's Stanley Cup win, which is not "never" but still not worth bragging about

I think making changes is admitting failure. If they are confident in their plan and understand the route the team is going, they will continue as status quo. If they truly believe they have a window to win, they will make a panic move. So far, I see them holding steady which means to me their marketing plan was just to throw optimism to oblivious ticketholders

Don't know his mindset but he was forced upstairs by the new analytics crowd in fla. Could see him want a more hands on job.... or he could see that Benning may not be long for the job.

All speculation but this what we're here for. (AND the trolls)

Your micro-aggression shows a pattern of underlying uniformity that is consistent with an individual with psychological discord.

Marky is gonna have to play a hell of a game. They score like 5 goals a night.

I'm usually a stick by your team guy , but it was just shown on Hockeycentral that the Canucks have now had their 2nd 9 game losing streak in their last 28 games played!

Time to change something
