The funny thing about trolling (not that I'm an expert), if you ignore them, they eventually (for the most part) will leave. There are some that just continue and continue and those are the ones that need to be banned.

I agree though, I never take offense to anything that is said, just more annoying than anything. Like when a Leafs fan was saying they should trade Bozak, JVR and San Jose's 2nd for Juolevi and a 1st.

- dshiddy

Laughable, but not the stupidest trade idea I have seen here. ALL fan bases come up with these gems.

I think it likely depends on how the game goes.

We've seen in the past that these hyped games turn into nothing during a close game but if the leafs blow out the Canucks again, I won't be surprised to see one of the Canuck "tough" guys do something dumb.

I also imagine we also see Dorsett and Martin both beat their chests regardless of the score.

- belcherbd

Not sure Dorsett will want that...maybe Gud's will.

Pretty sure those two will go early on.

Pretty sure, someone will run Kadri and he will be forced to answer the bell.

If he *does* answer the bell, I would hope that would be the end of it. Otherwise, we're getting back into the Bertuzzi mentality and no good comes of that.

This is where I'm confused about trolling...

What is the difference between trolling on here and the ribbing we all got from our friends over the years? Sometimes your best friends can be the most relentless.

On here it's an anonymous hockey web site for christ sake. I have battled for years with a few guys on here right now. So what? Soon as I log off it ends. And when I log back on it's a new session with no animosity.

I don't get why people get so offended.

- bloatedmosquito

I asked a simple straight forward question in the last blog... and was met with a Canuck ref threatening to ban me.

I don't follow Canucks hockey, I see as an outsider the team looks terrible and I know the GM is an idiot but I asked a simple question to gain some perspective and the only person that answered it like I wasn't trolling (which I wasn't) was you.
You're a good guy.

Dorsett would give it a go with Martin, but I don't think it would be in his best interest.

Guddy would be more than willing though.

Gud / Martin would be good...except Van's coach probably wouldn't like it.

Consistency is bad... but the hit itself is bad also, "legal" or not. I just think the solution isn't that easy to implement.
- Aetherial

But I think it has to be.

The NHL has done a pretty good job of defining all the ticky-tack stuff that are infractions during play. Most penalties are black and white. Most…

The one true issue that jeopardises the way the game is being played today are head injuries that result from predatory plays. I’m not saying Kadri was predatory but if the rules were more defined we wouldn’t be having such a hard time determining if it was clean or dirty. Too much grey right now.

Dorothy’s hit was obviously clean. That’s easy to see. How about a rule that states if a player engages another player in a blind side situation then the attacking player must hit with chest first. No shoulder contact will be permitted.

Use Dorothy/Sedin clip as DOPS demo video. Sedin scored the goal, took a Yuge hit, got up and celebrated. But he'll remember the hit next time he's cuts toward the middle like that. Hitting with the shoulder and he probably doesn't remember anything.

I agree with him. we were talking about it before that it was burrows, hansen, Miller, and Dorsett. Where were the new guys that are suppose to change our identity.

I've been on Marky a bit too. Just a bit odd that we go with Miller after a 6 goal affair. Miller has been ok...not great. People are looking for positives in the losing streak which is good but the goaltending has been getting more praise than they deserve. If the goalies were playing as well as claimed and making timely stops...pretty sure our record would reflect different numbers. But it is what it is. I have a bit more respect for Miller now that he came to help Stecher...and I'm hoping that's a rallying cry for the team. I realize it's tough to fault Miller/Marky most nights in front of our current D but still timely saves need to be made regardless of the D in front of them. I'm hoping for Miller/Marky to pick it up a bit and make those timely saves...which I think they will.
- LordHumungous

Well, recently a timely save would mean Miller would have to play to a 0-0 tie and hope someone can figure out how to score one on one with no defense to get in their way.... that's hardly a fair criticism at all. Especially when it's doubtful that the Canucks would even score once in a shoot out....

If Miller wasnt so (frank)ed over by his own players in the last game letting in that many goals, it would make sense to start Markstrom. If people are looking for positives, look for the coach to start his better GT right now. Markstrom can't even stay in his crease long enough to make a "timely save" right now. You know you are shaky when you are chasing the puck out of your crease all the time or puck battling with your own D behind the net...

You received a warning, instead of an immediate ban. You were given the benefit of the doubt.

Given the climate between the two fan bases now, you were treated more than fairly.

Let me see, just asking a simple question is like, "as an outsider and I don't follow the canucks, what's peoples perspective on the teams future?"

Now for a guy that admitted that he doesn't follow the Canucks, and in the next sentence calls Benning an idiot, is not asking a simple innocent questions, is out and out trolling, so I'll repeat, you post in that style and you will be banned.

Should have been a suspension...eerily close to Cooke on Savard.

I don't think Kadri meant too myself...small guys have to give themselves a bit of lift as to not take a head shot themselves but again...the league should have gave him a couple and let the players know these hit's are not acceptable.

- Garnie

Yup, I have read a ton of comments on here and Sportsnet/TSN about how the Canucks got a taste of their own medicine, because of years of employing Torres, Burrows, and Cooke, etc. The thing is all those guys all got the book thrown at them, and serve there time for there questionable hits.

Kadri got away with one, and I'm happy that Danny wasn't injured on the play.

North/South, East/West, Danny took the hit, and there really isn't much more to say about it.

I love ignoring the trolls to the point that they go from being frustrated(and banned) to being on the edge of losing interest, then I throw out a post that gets them wound up again.... just to ignore thier taunts for hours all over again. Sending them off is boring. Sending them off with a stretched large intestine is way more satisfying.

Bozak is an enigma. On any other team I think he fades into the background. I mean disappear.

But yet on the leafs he's a core player who does produce. Amazing. There is nothing fundamentally good about his game yet the leafs have used him in all sorts of situations and he seems to get by.

And it's not just coaching alone. He's had a few already. Keeps trucking along.

I was thinking of something similar, because I am sure on that hit Doughty was a little winded. Self preservation of having to hit with the chest will reduce the speed/impact, but I am sure those opposed to the change would say that its really a hard thing to expect players to quickly turn in those moments, which I see some merit in

Agreed, lucky Daniel wasnt injured, happy the team stepped up and happy the refs assessed it as a major penalty. Had the Canucks been able to focus up, they mightve been able to make the most of the PP instead of letting the game go to poop retaliating/escalating things

You can't lead with your chest....lol.

Should just be....blind side hit with any head contact regardless if its first or not.
