What does the last 45 years have anything to do with the current managements plan in Toronto, please enlighten me with your wisdom. Let me spare you the trouble, it has nothing to do with their current model. Three years ago when Shanahan came on board they had a vision, one that no other Leafs management had tried since expansion, that's what I'm referring to.

Your whole 50 years bs might fool someone but it really has zero to do with their past three years.

Personally I'd like the Canucks management to start selling assets, rebuild thru the draft, take the pain for four or five years and hope like hell it works out.

Right. The previous GM's work have nothing to do with the current plan yet here JB is with the Sedins signed with NTC's. Well past Gillis' expiry date knowing he wouldnt be around for this . The owner made a major investment in this team with the plan to milk those two players til the end. Wrong choice obviously but that ship sailed years ago.

Any plan our GM has is more influenced by this than anything. We would have to outlive that generation and investment first. This is a point people forget.... these decisions were made when the Sedin' contract was signed.... you know, back when you fought Vantel who was against it because this was obviously going to happen. Now that it has happened, you are preaching the Toronto model. Sure, they are on the right path SO FAR after 2 or 3 seasons.... but you seem to think they won't stray like other teams have that started from the bottom. Toronto decided to tank last season... that will never happen with the Sedins still signed obviously. This team will probably be torn down after the Sedins. That seems like "wisdom" to me.

Don't get so wound up when your wisdom is challenged.

Theyve finished 5th & 3rd last with the twins still here, I am of the opinion they would absolutely say (frank) it, time to rebuild.

Also, every GM before Benning have no bearing on whether or not it's time to hit the reset button, when your team is this bad you don't say I think we need to be competitive!

Furthermore, it's not the Toronto model, it's just called building thru the draft which many many many teams have done previously.

Running for Prez. Is there anything that kid can't do? Well, except for lossing weight. But everything else... no problem.

Trade Edler, Tanev, Hansen, Dorsett and baertschi. Buyout Sbisa. Sign a bunch of free agents. Send all the picks back to juniors or AHL (European). Another losing season then bring up previous years top picks. Resign the sedins one year 1 million each.

Don't sign the sedins for another year.

If they want to pull a naslund they can go ahead and hopefully win a cup but it's time. It's been an awesome run, best canucks ever, and they will be loved always but...

And no to free agents other than 1 year contracts. Draft the poop out of the next 4 seasons.

As the losing streak continues to grow, selling off assets begins to look more and more appealing, although history shows that just b/c we thinks it's a good idea, it only works if there is someone to trade with.

IMO, likely trade able assets at this stage, ie would be willing to accept a trade, has some value, contract, and are replaceable.:
Hansen, Dorsett, Tanev, Miller.

Unlikely assets who would be a pleasant surprise to move:
Edler, Burrows, Sbisa, Sedins x 2.

At this stage, it would be nice to think that we could move some of these players for picks/prospects...but i'm not holding my breath.

Hold up on the meds there chief.........out of that list, the only guys that should be traded are Edler and Hansen....and thats provided that someone steps up internally to replace Edler.

Dorsett and getting you poop....Baertschi is part of the future and is the kind of guy you want on your 3rd line.

Sbisa is being saved for the expansion draft........

JB better not dare to trade Tanev.......

Hey guys "Peace "lol ,so was wondering (as many of you are)what has happened to a team that started 4 and 0 ,then this? I know that tanev and eddler (spelling? )has been injured, but in your assessment what's going on? Coach, players, underpreforming? All the above? ,as a leaf fan I fully understand the frustration!!!as you would all be well of aware! !thanks. ....p.s.the kids that trolled just ignore! !pretty childish! Hope van can turn it around soon!

Probably right.

Hansen will likely have some value (but that's why JB is loathe to move him).
Edler has a NTC. Although i've thought that Detroit would be a good spot for him.
If Dorsett gets us a 3rd/4th. That's gravy.
I would not move Baetschi either. Good contract, low value.
Sbisa is LV insurance.
Tanev i would move for the right price.

I don't see the big surprise...did anyone see the Canucks doing well this year? Firing the coach ain't gonna help increase the talent (or lack of). As far as I'm concerned, I was expected to tank this year, and perhaps the next few. Its a rebuild.
