Yeah I'll get all Dozzer on him, then most guys can get back to eating their own. - Makita
I've come up with a plan!
For any new, obvious troll post I'm going to repost and respond to it in the leaf thread. If a leaf fan posts the question, then Dozzer can't ban me for answering.
Well he can but hopefully I'll have made my point. |

Just saying it creates limits. If there is only one option, we might not like the result. |

I think what you have lost sight of is that the Canucks have no assets to sell and they are already at the bottom, they are building through the draft, and the actions of previous general managers absolutely has something to do with the predicament today.
Would I approach the twins and ask if they would be willing to accept a trade? Absolutely, but they might not be up for that. - 1970vintage
I haven't though, what I want is for them to outwardly say, we're gonna rebuild. They have some assets, I fully expect them to use them this time around, not sit on them. |

Realistically, Tanev is the only one you could trade... - 1970vintage
I see Hansen having some value at the TDL |

Well the last few days was hell. As a Canucks fan living in Toronto has been rough to say the least. Here are my gripes so far.
When Benning got here he identified that this team lacked toughness. So we got tryamkin, Dorsett, EG. 2 players from our team get knocked out on the same play and the only guy responding is the one that was knocked out? What happened to standing up for one another. Then a teeney rookie gets jumped by a goon and the only person responding is Miller? Miller is barely 160lbs soaking wet.
The push back we get is spear and death threats after the game? This has been a systemic problem with the Canucks team from back in AV days. Don't push back. Don't fight. Get the PP.
If the powerplays sucks then laying down and getting a PP has no value. Atleast show that we have some bite.
Second, WD makes some really dumb moves sometimes. The rookie is jumped and WD decides to bench him the next game. Is that some sort of punishment? If you want to bench anyone and send his d partner to the box for not coming to the rescue.
Third, our so called master talent evaluator JB missed the most fundamental thing, the actual strengths of players. LE is a blue paint player. He earns his living banging in rebounds and tipping shots. JB brings him here to play with the Sedins that don't shoot and just cycle the puck.
And lastly, I now have to go the leafs game tonight wearing Mathews jersey because I lost a bet on the Nucks and leafs game. This sucks! - Linden_4_Capt
After I stop laughing at you and I get back from my 5km walk to the liquor store, I'll try to respond to the points above.
Oh, have you thought about writing an obscenity underneath Matthews name, and maybe soiling the jersey, technically you're wearing it, it just says is a penis gobbler under his name. |

The Leafs have been pushing that button since Burke was hired, I'm not buying it. They have been bad for a long time and it is starting to pay off. Until you can trade the twins, or they retire, there is no rebuild. And because the farm system was so pathetic, they had to make some of theses moves just to have a full roster. - 1970vintage
Burke tried to build a team around Kessel and Phanuef. Obviously it didn't work but I don't see how anyone can pretend that was the same strategy as what they have embraced the last couple of seasons.
Nonis added Bernier, Bolland and Clarkson.

Is it the words or the actions that bother you more? If Benning admits the team isn't competitive and needs to be rebuilt will that satisfy you? |

This is completely false Vintage, BB was not rebuilding, he traded two first round picks and tried to retool on the fly. Rebuilding thru the draft is personally what I'd like to see, not trading first round picks (which hasn't happened thankfully) or signing Eriksson to six million dollar deals. |

Partly, stop signing UFA's and telling everyone you believe in your group. The first step in solving a problem is admitting you have one. |

meh. that's politics (which apparently is not to be discussed today? ).
you put your best foot forward, and we are clearly sucking.
I have no problem with the GM saying that he wants to win and when the time comes, sell the assets as we are clearly out of the race.
Now, if JB starts picking up more salary and trading draft picks at teh TDL, we'll have a problem, until then, i'm cool with it. |

Though Hansen as a limited ntc - 1970vintage
His LNTC doesn't prevent him from being traded, just gives him choice on where to go. He said so himself last year during TDL when he was asked about the possibility of being traded. |

Im ok with where we're at, it's a necessary evil. Just stay the course, sell assets at the TDL and continue to draft well.
And for Gods sake just give the majority of fans what they want, tell them it's time to reset this franchise. |

No Chance this is true
That would be approaching Mike Millbury level of stupid. - classic321
Teams will always call and ask about other teams prospects.
I would get on the phone with NYI when Tanev/Hansen are healthy and see what it would take to get Colle/Barzal in a package. |

I have no problem with them being here next year, I just don't want them re-signed. I want to trade them at TDL of their final year.
The real question is what the (frank) do you do with Eriksson? - A_SteamingLombardi
Definitely agree about Eriksson.
The thing with me and the Sedins is they need to move into the shadows. The team can't rely on them for anything that is just delaying things.
The younger guys have got to figure their own style and not rely on the twins and the cycle game |

I agree with the first part, but i think it would send a poor message to the fans and most importantly the players if the management has given up on the season. |
