You need to let go of the idea their current management is in any way linked to their past management. If they had the same GM for the past 49 years your argument may have some validity, but they didn't. What Ballard did has absolutely NOTHING to do with Shanahan saying they've floundered as an organization for long enough. Let's do what every other successful team has done, build through the draft.

You've injected things that have no relevance to my hopes for the team. In simple terms I just want them to accept a rebuild come the trade deadline, regardless of their current situation with past contracts, players, etc.

And for the record, yes I do think it was Shanny's conversations with ownership that convinced them this is what they needed to do. He said so during interviews. Much like the Canucks, their owners were always and forever ONLY worried about money. Probably why they've never won. I applaud Shanahan for that.
