Bye, bye Barzal
Wonder if that means we'll see JHS in the not-so-distant future? Probably not. But I can dream. |

It's drizzling a little and also it seems as if the universe is collapsing into itself like a dying star. |

I'm not what you'd call "pro trump" but I think the level of despair needs to be even half as high as it is in so many people. |

I think it is a bit over the top as well.
Very curious to see how this pans out. Should be entertaining at the very least. |

I have a strong feeling that, at least in part, it's going to turn out that a lot of the ludicrous things that Trump said/claimed were just pandering to the lowest common denominator of humans to get their votes rather than the way he actually felt.
I really believe that, even if Trump is the worst president in the history of the United States and this entire thing turns out to be a disaster in the short term, that it will leave the country better in the long term. He busted open the mold of the career politician being the only avenue to the White House and he won an election in the face of a blatant and overwhelming media bias in his opponent's favor. If nothing else, I firmly believe that he paved the way for non-traditional candidates to eventually have a puncher's chance at being elected President. |

Don't bravo me, I didn't vote. I am a terrible person.
I just refuse to buy into the doom and gloom outlooks from all the melodramatic whiners.
One thing that does bother me a little bit is Pence's stances on LGBT rights and abortion. Stupid sh!t like that is why I can't call myself a full-blown Republican. I'm certainly not a Democrat but I tend to lean pretty left on a small handful of social issues, mainly those. |

I'm the same way.
I don't stand for any party because no party stands for me. Both sides of the spectrum have valid points but nobody want's to meet in the middle. Has to be either black or white. |

Yeah, if you look at my facebook feed today things definitely only exist in black or white. If you voted for Trump you're a bigot/homophobe/racist/fear-mongering Facist and if you voted for Hillary you're a SJW, communist, cop-hating supporter of a criminal.
People just want to yell and argue and social media gives them a platform to do it, which is an unfortunate by-product of it. |

Makes perfect sense.
One of the many reasons I try and avoid social media like the plague. |

I don't disagree on that front. This is the most politics I've talked all year. |

Was gonna say.
Much easier to talk about such things when the results are in. The sense of resignation seems to take the edge off for most sensible folk. |

While I can see your point, I am a Republican. Not a staunch, in-your-face, vote strictly party line Republican. I do like the fact, as Chiefs stated earlier, Trump has paved a new path to the White House. Also that I think he'll run this country more in the business model than politician model. It will also help him that Congress is a Republican majority.

I view myself predominantly as conservative. But there are liberal policies and ideals I identify with. Makes election time up here a b!tch because no matter whom I choose to vote for, I have to pick a representative whose policies I take exception with.
(frank)ing hate politics.
I do agree that American politics was getting... stale (not sure if that is the best word to describe it). Trump for better or worse will certainly bring change. |

I certainly hope so. The one thing that I take umbrage with in politics is if one party presents a bill, the other party has to/does attach something to it. This way it doesn't get passed and they can blame each other. It could be a bill that would solve this country's deficit and healthcare issues in 6 months. But because everyone wants to play the blame game, the other party will attach, say legalized abortion to it so it doesn't get passed. Just political bs. |
