Seth Griffith on waivers again from TO.
Talent analysis "small, skilled forward with excellent hockey sense and solid offensive skills"

Hey I love what that kid brings and defend him to a fault sometimes, but, Friedman reported the Canucks were contemplating Larkin but Benning liked Virtanen's size and power game "old school". As you can see the Canucks are lacking in their skill and speed game, Larkin would be a God-send right now....luck involved I know.
I look a team like Washington, they started to improve in 2008 and became a really good team, Presidents Trophy team, much like the Canucks. In that time frame from 08 until now they've put NINE players in the league who've played 100 games or more. Holtby, Carlson, Johansson, Orlov, Kuznetsov, Burakovsky, Tom Wilson and they also drafted Filip Forsberg and Cody Eakin.
You know how many the Canucks have put in the league over that time, four, Hodgson (who's retired), Jordan Schroeder (who's a career minor leaguer), Kevin Connauton (does he still play) and Bo Horvat.
That's bad drafting from similar draft positions IMO. - LeftCoaster
Hutton will have 100 in ten more games and although Tanev was not drafted he fills that role also |

I agree. Drafting has changed. I will giving Benning time or at least time will tell. - thundachunk
Those kids that are still playing for Washington were all drafted by George McPhee by the way...and everyone calls him an idiot. All of those players are really good players and play an important role in Washington! |

He could still turn out like Hodgson, Schroeder or Connauton. Hasn't looked great this year!
Edit:Tanev doesn't count, drafting not free agents is the point. |

I'm hopeful he's leaning towards skill, speed and perhaps size going forward. Lockwood as an example! |

Yup .he did.
But he is dealing with Mike Gillis's handcuffing contracts though. That said he signs Eriksson to the same kind |

No one wanted him 6 years. Once it was done some tried to justify it begrudgingly |

Yes he was handed a basket of poop, I acknowledge that. But let's be honest here around 50% of the players on the team were acquired by Jim Benning.
Eriksson, Gudbranson, Dorsett, Sbisa, Baertschi, Granlund, Stecher, Tryamkin, Miller, Larsen and Skille. Off the top of my head there's 11, probably is more? |

Gillis on Jordan Schroeder....
"We had Jordan much higher rated and we didn't feel he'd be available to get and when he was there, we were taking him," said Gillis. "We're very excited about it." |

Edit: Gillis was fired before the 2014 draft so what would it matter who he liked...Tony? |

Those three you would have guessed were signed by MG, looking at their contracts
Even if Eriksson's contract doesn't look that great, I'm a bit more forgiving of it since he is at least a top 6 player acquired during free agency. |

Not 100% acurate but I get what you mean.
Sbisa is part of the team because of the Gillis NTC given to Kesler where we could trade with one team.
Granlund was moved because of a bad Gillis draft pick and no team was looking to trade for him same as Jensen. |

Most people wanted JV . I am talking the fan base. Most wanted a local power forward.
Even though JV has yet to prove anything Tryamkin is looking like a steal. Win some /lose some |

The best players on the Canucks are still from the Brian Burke era, how sad is that!
Hank, Danny, Edler, Hansen
Burke was the GM from 1998 to 2004....(frank) |
