Good to see him show some consistency. Always liked Ferland and his story. Seems like a solid guy who turned his life around. I remember when he punched out the guy at whatever bar he was at.

Why are so many people shocked at how this season is going? They did nothing to address their main issues from last year and were expecting to be carried by a core of forwards all under the age of 23.

One look at their opening day roster and it was pretty evident this is still a team in the middle of a rebuild and a last place finish was just as likely as a playoff push.

They're awful at defensive coverage and they give up way too many turnovers by trying to force things.

They also didn't do anything to improve their special teams.

I think we are all missing the point. The Flames are 9th in the league in possession stats. Isn't this what everyone wanted? Where are all the people that said "I told you so" when the Flames sucked last year because the 2014-2015 season was unsustainable? Shouldn't they be in here telling us it's gonna be ok??

Well actually, none of the top players are that good. It was actually their goaltending that kept them from loosing more games. Why did they fire Hartley in the first place? DH is a locker room Cancer.

I just read that in the Pens blog. (frank) do we ever need a big win to shut some of these guys up! I don't remember seeing one Hartley supporter on here when he was fired, now everyone's raving about what a good coach he was

As for the people already on the fire GG train:
1. It's been like 15 games, chill the (frank) out
2. How is it GG's fault that his 4 best players have played like poop all season long? (and don't give me this whole "They're butthurt over Hartley's firing" -not buying it).
3. As noted, we are now near the top of the league in the one metric that every blogger, opposing team fan and analyst on TSN said was the reason that we would not make the playoffs last year.

If we continue to outshoot/outchance our opponents (as we have been on many nights), the wins will come. Hopefully these rumours of a Hamilton trade are bullpoop, I don't want us to make a stupid trade just for the sake of making a trade

Ferland should be on the top line, he has been one of few players that are actually playing good hockey. He deserves it. Definitely playing like a top 6 forward

Ferland had one of his worst NHL games last game.

Even if you look at the highlights of the Rangers' goals you'll see Ferland completely out of position and coasting lazily.

Those are just the highlights. He did that for most of the game.

His goal was nice, but it was an oasis among a desert off lazy play and terrible positioning.

Ferland needs insulated minutes on the 4th line.
