Ohhhh (frank)

So not only do we need good possession but quality possession as well? Maybe we need to hire Hartley on as the assistant coach?

- The-O-G

couldn't hurt could it?

But seriously all these stats are (frank)ed. Scoring chances, high quality scoring chances etc are all over the board depending on who is gathering the info. One source will have one team winning the scoring chance battle but another will have it opposite. Its (frank)ed.

The Rangers just held the perimeter and laughed at us.

The few times we were on top of the puck was when we found a way to pass the puck back to the outlet and remove the forechecker from the play.

That's the style GG said we'd be playing and we managed it all of three times against the Rags.

Ferland had one of his worst NHL games last game.

Even if you look at the highlights of the Rangers' goals you'll see Ferland completely out of position and coasting lazily.

Those are just the highlights. He did that for most of the game.

His goal was nice, but it was an oasis among a desert off lazy play and terrible positioning.

Ferland needs insulated minutes on the 4th line.

Okay he didn't have a great game last game. He has still been playing decent hockey. When I have watched them he has looked like on of our better players every night

Well at least you dont have people who want Lowe back making hockey decisions and MacT behind the bench. (frank)in christ.

Perhaps last game was an anomaly. Everyone looked awful.

Good thing the Flames scheduled ONE PRACTICE BETWEEN LAST GAME AND THE MINNESOTA GAME?!

What you want 3 straight days of practice leading into travelling to Minny and having to fly home to play back to backs??? Glad you aren't the coach.

Its all Wideman's fault... The league hates us!

- geta02it

You saying he didn't finish the job and should have killed the ref. Good plan, throw the fear into the refs if they don't call it our way.

We just put in our worst effort in years and barely played the system we've set out to play.

Let's take a day off to think about it, then have a practice the day before the game so we can't work anyone too hard either.

And since back to backs are coming, let's be sure to make that one practice go the distance in terms of completely changing how the team plays hockey.

I'm glad I'm not the Coach too. That doesn't change the fact that GG needs more practices to get the team playing how he wants them to.

Will my point make more sense if we lose the next three games in the same fashion as last game?

Gio and his great contract should pull us out of this mess, he has instituted his winning ways in these kids by now ... we are no way at all anything like the Oilers ...

Has anyone actually heard one piece of evidence for Dougie being a locker room cancer? It keeps getting brought up and I just don't see it.

He's been getting pretty involved in the community, he always seems to be in a group visiting a children's hospital or some poop. By the sounds of it he's even organising a lot of the visits himself.

He's a little introverted and isn't a big talker, doesn't make him a cancer FFS . A guy would have to be pretty (frank)in unbearable for a team of professional athletes to be affected by him, I just don't see it from Hamilton.

So salty.

I like how you had to build some confidence in other threads before coming back to the Flames thread.

I think he's just a valuable asset and that's the only reason we're hearing rumours. We're losing and the GMs are trying to take advantage of that.

Personally I think this is all getting out of control. Kypreos just said people would be calling, that isn't really saying much.

Medium practice yesterday and a light practice today. The schedule is about to get intense and this was a chance to get our sh*t together.

That said, I'm more just pissed about the effort on Saturday. The team looks miserable and isn't moving their feet at all. I'm ranting more than being constructive lately.

Absolutely, just hope that BT doesn't cave to the pressure and make a stupid trade

I can remember when I joined HB. Brodie was about the same age as Hamilton is now and there wasn't a week that went by where he didn't get brought up in a trade proposal.

Trading Hamilton now could end up being a worse mistake than trading Brodie then would have been. The kid has the tools to succeed he just needs some time to put it all together!

Well, there is a thing called union designated days off as well. Could very easily have been that.

As for the Hamilton rumours, the reports are that teams have been calling. Not that the Flames are shopping him. Big difference.

There most certainly is. Buuut the precedent has been set that the Coach can ask the team to waive said days.

Most players have young families though. Might not help the team, but those days are important..

Let's get positive though! We tend to have turning point games against Chicago! Win or lose, maybe we'll see the team turn a corner! Perhaps we can beat Arizona!

It's actually pretty ridiculous that mandatory days off aren't actually mandatory. The coach shouldn't be able to ask since it's just going to cause problems.

We're more than likely playing for 29th spot Wednesday against the Coyotes. They just happen to have a three days off since their game last Saturday.

Meanwhile we're flying back from a game the night before in Minnesota.

Watch us finish 30th and get the 3rd overall pick in the draft lottery.

I agree with OG ...this team has improved possession each year in the past 3 ...if you would have told me last year we would go into Chicago twice and St.louis and be the dominant team I wouldn't have believed you ...the main issue with this team is special teams and turnovers ...they keep losing both battles

There's no way they trade Hamilton ...they need another top 4 D IMO ...jokipakka...grossman ...and engelland have been issues ...Dougie has terrible numbers but has played a lot with those 3 ...if he had an actually top 4 as a partner things would look better ...kulak has been very good actually besides last game

Chiasson had to go back to a spot where he belongs ...top line is not that place

If he needs a better partner to be a top 4 defenceman, he probably shouldn't be getting paid 6 million.

I agree with this, for the most part. However, how Gio and Brodie benefit and support each others style and give each other confidence, Hamilton would certainly benefit from a soul mate of sorts himself. Especially as a 23 year old who is still very much growing and learning the game.
