Hard to say. I'd think he gets a pass until out next losing streak and then re-evaluated. I just hope that the next time he benches JV they just send him down for the season. WD is going to ruin JV's career more than JV will ruin his own.

Canucks have been dominant in OT this season, when they get there. WD can't play his defensive system then and player offensive talent is unleashed. Playing catch up is diffenrt too. This was a player win not giving it to WD.... but if they have a good alternative who will change the system then pull the trigger.

I don't agree with this. JV is his own obstacle. Almost every former player and coach who has commented on this say the same thing as the Canucks are saying.

If anyone other than JV is ruining JV, it's JB. A coach who has to win to keep his job is not exactly going to make decisions that contradict his boss. JB should have sent him down a while ago... he could be returning a hot player instead of barely warm.

No that's not the assessment and you know that. Even the panel experts were sayings the system play is a problem. Team speed is lower with this style and creates less quality chances.

This is not it's all WD's fault here are many issues here. But what he's doing isn't working for today's NHL. If the team had no offensive talent it would show in OT. But they dominate there with possession and pressure. The results say something about the systems play employed by WD during regulation and starting out games. Team has only scored the first goal 3 times all year.

Agreed I watched JV his whole time for the Hitmen similar issues…attitude and effort.
