Purely hypothetical and just for fun.....but if they'd have started rebuilding in 2014 we could have these kids in the first three rounds and probably still be third last in the league like we are now.

2014

1st rnd) Dylan Larkin 6th, Jared McCann 24th
2nd rnd) Thatcher Demko, Roland McKeown/Christen Dvorak
3rd rnd) Tryamkin, Anton Karlsson

2015

1st rnd) Brock Boeser
3rd rnd) Brisebois

2016

1st rnd) Juolevi
2nd rnd) Kale Clague
3rd rnd) Will Lockwood

I am firm on the coach change. The team looks quite disorganized.

Canuck problem is they don't have a # 91.

They just need to change someone's number and problem solved

A lot of empty seats today. Is this the game the Canucks donated a 1000 tickets to the students of Abbotsford too?

Well always entertaining to see how the Canucks can shoot themslefes in the foot under the WD system.

Even on bad teams a player or two has it going offensively. But it's anemic how the WD system and defense demployment stifle offense. He can't seem to develop players and prefers DD types.

The PP is way to simple to defend against and he doesn't know how to utilize players.

You can blame the players so much but at some point this kind of futility has to fall on the coach.

When someone compares the two teams , the immediate reaction is to drool over the Flames. They have about 4 nice pieces.

Canucks do have Horvat. That is where the conversation usually ends.

I am becoming a bigger fan every game of Tryamkin. I am a big fan of Stecher.

I like Markstom and Gartieg.

I can't wait to see what Juolevi brings and of course Boeser.

Good news also on Lockwood.

I don't think it is that bad here and am very excited to see the end of Sedins Edler era

Adam Gaudette looking good too.

Not bad drafting for limited picks. Time to going into 3 str8 drafts with a surplus of draft picks. I'm really looking forward to 2018

Dahlin and Veleno....

I maintain there is no system. I see no structure to his coaching.

Lefty your assessment of the Flames over the Canucks is leaving out the fact this team is stronger from the net out. The offense is stifled so development of new players has been slow for the Canucks. I believe even BB under this system will come in and not do well. There is talent there... no super high end like Mcjesus but few teams ever get that luxury. Now is there enough talent ...? ...no ... that's evident.

But what is there seems to be underutilized or not developed the rights way for today's NHL. This observation is based on examples of how Bo has been used. Plus Stecher and D don't seem to have green light to crate or press either.

I don't really want to start the sword and the hand that holds it up again, but it's a player personnel issue more than a coaching issue. Hutton is in over his head getting burned night after night. Outside of the Sedins/erokson and Bo, we have no high end scoring talent-which is not enough. We're out-gunned. We have three capable d-men, theee fringe ahl guys and Sbisa(who for my money has done really well). I like tree, stech and Hutton, but they are going to make mistakes as they learn.

I support the change of the coach just to see a different playing style. Canucks games are just to boring to watch under Willie D

I am not taking away from the player issues. I said after the first half of his first season that he doesn't have a structure to his coaching. Bad decisions. His line matching aka he doesn't. The defence got better of this team would be a hell of a lot worse.
