No excuses. Pittsburgh was missing Crosby and Malkin a few years ago and played just fine. - bluengold12
I'm all about expectations but let's be realistic here, they have five top five picks in a row. Sabres so far had 2.
The teams we're comparing the Sabres to typically suffered much longer than we have. We just suffered in mediocrity for years prior to making the rebuild decision.

But......we also made the ROR/Lehner/Kane deals so it wouldn't be 5 straight top picks....but this team is just too hurt

I do understand that and agree with it. I think Pitt got their core established then started the trades, same thing with Chicago. I was looking at their drafting from 2000 - 2010 they had something like 13 or 14 first round picks with like 7 of them being top 10.
I think some of us, myself included, got excited with that point jump last year and expected a similar number or at least to get to 95 as we were led to believe, but I think we know that's not going to happen.
I think I hate this team more than the tanked years. At least then we were designed to suck. Byslma needs to do a drill of keeping the (frank)ing puck in the zone especially when you're on the power play. I've seen so many passes where the puck skips off the morons stick and out of the zone. It's (frank)ing pathetic pee wee crap and something that shouldn't be tolerated.
