Yeesh... That'd be a big contract to trade away. - Guile
If they're moving Kane creates room for saad. not sure what the ask would be. |

The only real problem I have with this team is Evander Kane. He's even worse than advertised both on and off the ice.
Otherwise this is a team still rebuilding and finding their way. Don't worry about Bylsma he's be gone long before it's time to seriously compete in this league. Oh and everyone is injured because God hates us and we can't have nice things. |

It is a big problem. My point is that people shouldn't be swallowing swords over a 5 game stretch where we were missing significant pieces. We didn't have the talent or maturity to overcome that kind of talent loss. - Slump Buster
I understand where you are coming from. I'm not a complainer or a "the world is gonna end" guy like some. (Gerbe) But i'm starting to doubt a lot of things. Its one thing if they are losing but showing improvement or if injuries happen and young guys come in and show hope. But everything that is going on, i'm not really sure i can look at any part of this team and be excited. There are a few players, but hockey is all about chemistry and building a unit that can work together and plug in when people go down. And i just don't see us being anywhere near that. |

Thirty thoughts
5. When Evander Kane returned to the lineup last week against Ottawa, attendance was high in the scouting section. Sometimes that happens when there’s a light schedule — there were only three games that night, so turnout is higher than normal. But there’s little doubt Kane will be watched closely, because the Sabres are willing to move him. So far, there hasn’t been an offer worth getting excited about, so unless Buffalo wants to do this for pennies on the dollar, it’s a waiting game.
6. Vancouver’s interest is well-known, but, again, I don’t think the Canucks have offered much. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune’s Michael Russo has reported the Wild’s interest. The two GMs — Chuck Fletcher and Tim Murray — are tight. I’m not comfortable being on a different side than the incredibly plugged-in Russo, but I’m getting denials on that one. I do think Minnesota is looking to add a forward, though.
If nothing else, I like that hes willing to admit the move was a mistake and hes open to moving players even though he really liked them in ottawa.
Edit: even the freaking canucks wont pay up for him - Sabresfan-365
Sometimes a player return that is 40-50 cents on dollar is worth the move considering the cap space you clear and the locker room cancer you remove

Yeah, I see what you're saying and I don't necessarily disagree. Something about the way the team is constructed doesn't feel right. I don't know how much of that comes from the combination of the team not playing very well and the injuries. It seems like we have several guys (Kane, Bogo, Kulikov) that are phenomenal athletes but short on hockey smarts.

I don't think they are that good to have 50 shades. They fall short by a great margin |

That is such a blown out opinion. No proof of it . just people assuming it cause they don't like him. |

10 years ago we went to the Eastern Conference Finals. They also finished first in their division since then.
You're frustrated, I get it. But the level of suck that we've dealt with has only been the last 3-4 years. - HonkFortheGoose
Let's face it Goose... Many, Many on here have once again overstated the talent level on this team and again based their hopes on POTENTIAL.... |

I don't know who is doing this. Over the last 40 games last year we were a pretty decent team. I don't see why it was unreasonable to expect that to continue. |

He was definitely a locker room cancer in Winnipeg. Your teammates don't treat you the way they treated Kane if he wasn't. That being said, it remains to be seen if he learned his lesson here. Early returns suggest he hasn't. |

Yup. We targeted smart forwards like Reinhart/O'Reilly/Okposo, but not so smart D men in Bogo, Kulikov, maybe even Gorges.
I don't get what we are trying to be |

Did one of their guys really skate by our bench last night while pointing at each player? I missed the middle part of the game. |

Reaves. Not sure if he pointed but he had a shift where he cleanly destroyed three different guys then taunted our bench. Once again we've failed to take the physical element of hockey into consideration while building a team. |

Some players are also just "professional losers" and not winning-type players. I am becoming convinced that Kane just may be one of those guys |

You don't make a team better by surrounding Eichel with the same old useless characters... Moulson, Ennis, Girgensons (who is a flop by the way), Gionta (who is beyond his useful years) and on and on.... One really good player does not a team make... |

Yes Homie and good point... This team, which used to have top notch goaltending is now relying on an average, at best, goaltender... |

You know... There are many on this team that everyone THOUGHT was going to be a real game changer.... Well... We are still waiting for them to show up..... Not to mention the coach is at best below average... |
