Honestly, right now I think I'd rather have Nolan than this guy. At least the players seemed to want to do well, but lacked enough talent through the lineup to actually be competitive on a nightly basis.
They look like they've given up right now, and I never once saw that when Nolan was here.
**DISCLAIMER: I'm not saying Nolan is a good coach, just that the team was probably more fun to watch then, than it is now** - HonkFortheGoose
Sadly both the Bills and Sabres have sub par coaching with the built in injury excuse. This year is proving to be a completely unproductive year for both teams who both desperately need to move forward. |

the thing on rex, I kind of give him a pass for a minute or 2
you go from a 4-3 to a 3-4
honestly you don't have the right personnel for that switch and it takes 2 years to tool it the way you need to.
no excuse for the secondary of course
I blame whaley for the wr's which is killing the offense and for the o line pass protection
Also if your making that switch on D, Whaley should have drafted more d men in the first few rounds
again, no excuse for the secondary stinking, which is perhaps the biggest reason the bills are 4-5 and not 7-2

I can tell there is some sort of resemblance of a system with Bylsma. Maybe it has something to do with actually having played the game. The problem is the players don't seem to be buying into it (i.e. going through the motions and nothing more). - buffalofan19
I thought his system was to pass the freaking puck though the other teams players. SERIOUSLY why does it seem like we are trying to pass or shoot when there is someone standing right in front of them. |

Sat first row behind the bench last night for $40. My 2 year old got a puck, a couple autos, and a blade of a broken stick. Plus high-fived the whole team. He was in his glory! - CoHo_to_B-Lo

jack and ror won't fix the scoring woes
we lose games 4-2 instead of 4-1 when they come back - homiedclown
I think it'll help more than that. We're currently missing our top 2 centers. That's a big hole to fill, even if you are a deep team, which we currently are not. You've now got guys facing top defenseman that they normally don't, because they're playing on higher lines than they should.
That Foligno/Larsson/Gionta line would probably be scoring a lot more if they were facing the 3rd D pair instead of the 1st.
It's not going to be a quick fix getting those guys back, but it should actually balance out a lot more. No, we're not a 4 goals a game kind of team, but I would think they should be able to muster 2-3 a game when we get ROR and Eichel back. |

Agreed... Like we said we need to weather the storm until we start getting some of these guys back... 6 players from Rochester playing last night = not a good situation. I still think its the sum of the whole, not the individual parts...
Jack and ROR make payers around them better.... we have nobody on the team right now that does that... and it shows.

I only heard a bit on the radio during the 1st period yesterday. And then I didn't watch any of it when I got home. I honestly didn't expect much, so turning it on seemed like it wasn't worth it. |

Rex's defensive scheme very much relies on how good the safeties are. Without Aaron Williams, our safeties suck.

At least a d-man scored last night! Something positive. - burner087
It was a laser beam too. One-timed it off the board. The next time I see Risto make a play like that will be the first time. |

Rex inherited a top 5 defense and turned it into S)*(^\
Rex has been a S*)%& coach for 5 years.
I blame the Pegulas, Brandon and Whaley for hiring him.
Should have hired Hue Jackson and kept Jim Schwartz.
Jim Schwartz took the almost last place Eagles defense last year, they are now top 5.

See, I blame Pegula for hiring a Head Coach who was going to take a top 5 D and change to a new scheme, again...when he didn't have the personnel for it...and the O sucked so bad that addional
Ickes spent on that side of the ball would have made a difference .... and what is the result?..both sides of the ball suck.
They got exactly what they deserved.
