Defensively responsible, do you watch the Canucks? He's not great defensively, although he was touted as such and now every Canuck fan and his brother thinks he is. He needs a lot of work on that side of his game.
He's bigger and stronger for sure, but I'll say again, he's not as gifted as RNH offensively. So many people, you included apparently, are stuck with the 18/19 year old version of RNH in their heads. He's 6'0" 190lbs, that's not the small frail kid that came into the league.
And where do you get that he's injury prone, again you probably are stuck in the mindset of the 19 year old kid who hurt his collar bone from a good hit. It hasn't been an issue for three years, last year he was hit in the hand with a puck and it broke his finger, I guess that makes him injury prone? - LeftCoaster
I was talking about Horvat's development in the last thread. People keep saying his development is being hurt playing him in a defensive role. Not at all. It's painfully obvious he needs that. He seems to forget all about the defensive side of the game when he is pushing offensively. He needs to build some defensive habits before he goes balls to the wall offensively. It's painfully obvious.

Not that there is anything wrong with it but is there such a thing as "best cross dresser?" |

Don said better prospect. That means he's looking forward.
If someone said a college free agent signing who was playing better than a 2nd Rd pick at the forward position had become the better or same level of prospect after 20 games in the A, he would be laughed at... and rightly so. - RealityChecker
For the sake of three draft spots let call Pedan a second rounder ( Drafted 63) I think Stecher , a free agent signing less than twenty games in the A is a much better prospect than Pedan |

This team reminds me a lot of the crap they thre out there in the 98/99 season, gonna be a hateful year. - Pacificgem
But we got the twins that draft year. |

The sad part is these idiots are actually trying to be good. (frank) me, I could understand and accept this a lot easier if it was their plan, but it isn't, they're just idiots. - Pacificgem
Are you really sure it's not their plan? |

If they didn't sign Eriksson, people would actually think they were finally rebuilding. |

I get what you are saying and am partial to it though have some altered views.I ran the scenario logic here on the rebuild purist logic but it's not really what happens.
The jury on developed youtful core is out on many teams mentioned with holes in different areas. Canucks no different other then no superstar scoring forward of the future identified. Not uncommon to their history either only Bure can really be mentioned in that light and the twins are an anomaly unseen before.
Rebuild is a combination of things done from drafting well etc and takes a layered approach. Canucks didn't win any lottos and moves are measured against what others have done too. So why the frustration out there. Canucks need more and can try to build off of what they have from areas of strength.
Just saying Oil haven't proven anything and are one key injury away from a lotto pick - Nuck4U
Have chicago and pittsburgh proven anything? Because I've got to tell you, there is only one reason those teams have 5 cups.

I don't think so. He may be willing to get out of Dodge as early as this summer and the league doesnt forget that he can play hockey just because fans here do after 17 games.

They weren't part of this discussion. Two different teams with different ways forward that applied in a different era cap and draft lotto wise. |

What is amusing is the trade talk happening. Saad not going anywhere and Canucks don't have what CBJ would want. Only reason E. Kane talk on is perception that damaged reputation may make him an affordable option for Canucks limited tradable assets. But even that possibility of getting him without usual cost is rejected by many rebuild purists. They just want draft picks so we can sit around the next 5 years wondering what kind of team we will have and holding our nose to what's playing on the ice. |
