I prefer to think of it as the Islander model, Burke just got lucky

1972 - Bob Nystrom 33rd overall
1973 - Denis Potvin 1st overall
1974 - Clark Gillies 4th overall, Bryan Trottier 22nd overall
1976 - Ken Morrow 66th overall
1977 - Mike Bossy 15th overall, John Tonelli 33rd overall
1979 - Duane Sutter
1980 - Brent Sutter, Kelly Hrudey, Greg Gilbert

Canucks have picked more than their allotted 1st rounders so far under JB.

It's the Benning Model and you know it!

I try with you but you're one of the dumbest poops I've ever come across on these boards. It's like trying to explain the world isn't flat to you?

Yes there's luck involves with the draft but the VAST MAJORITY of the greatest players to ever play the sport come from high in the draft....there's empirical evidence that supports this.

- LeftCoaster

What's ignorant about your response is missing the point and believing another is being made. Your callous remark is blinding you from the opening sentence.

"Yes the odds favor the higher up draft picks."

However trying to explain the rest of the nuance of the answer to someone who has shut the door and just wants to blurb insults thinking they are superior in some way is a waste of intelligent discourse.

Quality not quantity!

You build a championship team over five to ten years of drafting, that's how you win, it's a tried a true method.

I don't get why they are talking about his stick injuring him. Didn't seem a big hit he just was caught awkwardly.

Canucks will finish last in the league this year, which is fine, the sad part is the management team put together a team they thought could push for a playoff position.

Looks like it was Richardson falling awkwardly combined with the size of the Tramp.

That was just the brilliance of Aquillini Marketing. No way they were ever going to make it. If they do get 65 points, I will shout hooray!
