Trade them both for Jagr, the last player in the NHL who served during World War II. - jmatchett383
Yeah but did he join the Nazis after they invaded Czechoslovakia or the resistance? The fact it is kept so quiet leads me to fear the worst.
Don't take this the wrong way anyone, but Jagr would look really spiffy in a Nazi uniform IMHO....only fashion wise though! |

The Hockey Network put up an interesting stat about Jagr last nite since he was playing against the Leafs. He has more total points than the Leafs entire roster, by a few hundred... |

What does this have to do with his WWII service record? |

You're basically just saying accepting mediocrity is okay from guys who you expect to be mediocre, which does nothing to counter the fact that people have a right to be upset when none of us have seen the Flyers ice their most skilled lineup. - YuenglingJagr
What is the Flyers most skilled and or best lineup, is certainly subjective. What I'm simply saying is that the coach isn't going to have the same criteria for judging a veteran player such as Vandevelde, than he is for Gostisbehere. That's pretty fundamental |

That "figured him out, that's why he's not producing" stuff is complete nonsense - Scoob
I don't know that figuring him out is the right term. That kind of insinuates that there isn't much he can do about that. I think for sure that teams have a better idea of how dangerous he is, and have scouted his tendencies. Just like for any other player.

For those who needed a little wake up this morning - dragonoffrost
Flyers throw a tough guys night and it doesn't seem like they wanna be tough anymore. Simmonds and Gudas to me are the guys plying those roles. Schenn and Manning to a smaller extent. |

Schultz is the active all time shots leader and a vet. Vandevelde is a third season 4th line winger who scored 2 goals for 14 points last season while contributing to a terrible 4th line. |

What is Vandevelde's criteria? What standard to Ghost held to and how is it different to Vandevelde's? |

Just looking at standings.
How the (frank) has Columbus played only 14 games when the majority of clubs are 18. Winnipeg at 19. |

The reasons why the coach would scratch Schultz or Vandevelde, might not be the same reasons for why he decided to scratch Gostisbehere. |

I'm gonna say something that is gonna leave me open to absolutely get bikes on by the masses but I'm gonna say it anyway. The debate of whether or not Sean Couturier is a legitimate argument but I'm watching Zetterberg play right now who is 34/35 years old and a second liner at best in the late stages of his career and by the eye test, I think Hanrik Zetterberg is still better than Sean Couturier. Hank looks like he can keep up with his line mates still and if the Flyers picked up Zetterberg today, Coots would a third liner.
Sorry.
And this is coming from a guy who loves Sean Couturier. |

Brother, I understand this but we could potentially have a better line up if Hakstol saw that Vandevelde isn't a very good player. He doesn't. |
