Could be for another teams first or player(s) or whatever, but must trade it.

Would promote more trading too which fans seem to like.

So let's say you think the Sabres are going to be the worst this year, you target that pick, could benefit Sabres sooner making them not finish last. But Sabres would target another bad team but waiting to deadline could be worse.

Because you'd be forcing teams to make trades even if they don't want to give up fair value for the trade they're making. Because "fair value" may actually cripple them. It just doesn't make sense.
