No but sometimes a 3-0 lead makes people do crazy things.

Sure do, it's getting the distance between one player and another just right, and yet your expert coaching didn't answer the question.

Not that many teams left that are below you in the standings. I don't see many Calgary, Islanders or Arizona fans here.

I was talking us going there.

I'm afraid to look but I was thinking scoobs might have gone for a walk. That would have been a mistake.

I'm not drunk, and ohhh, 200 people on twitter must be right

If Edler was playing with a better D partner the game never even would have went to OT.

And basic logic suggest tight gap control limits what a player can do.

Standing at the hashmarks before he is across the blue line is brutal. Hossa was salivating seeing him as a guaranteed screen.

Edlers biggest gap problem is the gap between his ears. Always has been, always will be

Maybe WD should have made some adjustments before it got out of control?

Well the measuring stick lessons can be summed as:

1)Fans are still into the Canucks and showed up..

2)Canucks need more practice on how to play with a lead.

3) WD still struggles with line changes and match ups.

4) Canucks do thrill in OT and why they usually win.

5) even though way past rivalry days Hawks And Canuck games never boring

6) Marky not ready for #1 job has let down when Canucks need the door shut.

7) win or lose Canucks are in most games.

Lots of guys brought their A game tonight but Edler and Markstrom were not two of them...

- boonerbuck

This is true. Marky looked solid for two periods but mentally there is something up with this guy…he is getting into Miller territory to the 4-5 goals per game mark and we just aren't going to score that many per game.

Edler is another story…has flashes of brilliance but man when there is a 'safe' lead he disappears.

But Horvat-Granlund and Sedin…one of them should have put this game away after the CHI goal was disallowed. Bury that sh!t!!!

No, he's a smart hockey player. He doesn't possess a large amount of skill but he's been a serviceable 1-2 dman.

I think his shoulder injuries have affected his game.

The comment isn't about teams below the canucks, it's about bottom feeding teams which Toronto certainly falls into. But carry on with your thoughts.

Being too tight is just as bad as being too far back. If Edler challenges too soon Hossa goes right by and has a breakaway. If you look again at your picture there is a forward challenging. Maybe Edler could have been a couple feet higher, but that shot should never have gone in.

And yet no mention of Stecher giving up the breakaway to Kane...
- 1970vintage

I don't really keep track of the occasional mistakes players make. A game costing performance is much more remarkable than a goal costing mistake. Sorry to rag on your player tonight. I rarely say much about Edler. Tonight I am.

I like Stecher, I think he's going to be 'a real good player', but maybe a rookie with 10 games of NHL experience shouldn't be playing 22 min?

For sure. Edler may have been a few feet out but a 25 foot weak wrist shot (screen or not) should not see the back of the net from there. That was more Marky than it was Edler.

And yet he gets a pass from everyone, and he's the best thing since sliced bread. The OT winner is all on Markstrom.

Oh, I don't care about Edler, he's not my guy. I don't care for the over reactionary finger pointing. There are 5 guys on the ice and each has a job to do, and it was more then 1 guy not doing his job tonight.

If you look at comparable rookies like Ekblad, Doughty, Hanifin, Chychrun, Rielly etc... they all played 20+ mins in their rookie years.
