P. Kane is the kinda guy you need to win championships, you could see just how good he can be in the third, you don't usually get lucky enough to find those guys in the middle of the first round or in later rounds. You need a few high picks. - LeftCoaster
It depends on the draft and the situation, coaching and development also plays a factor. All the talent and skill in the world won't help you if you play for a really poopty team that doesn't develop players well (see Gilbert Brule, Nail Yakupov, etc.) |

Real Sports bar opens at rogers arena in December. Same as in Toronto. Going to have biggest bar in Vancouver, will be length of blue line. - dshiddy
Nice, look forward to it. I was at the Loge lounge for the first time last night. It's a great experience. Fantastic food, incredible service and when you actually want to watch the game the seats are great. Probably very expensive though |

Ya it's just gonna take as long as it takes, there is an element of luck involved with it. Look at Winnipeg, they finished 5th last and won 2nd. They drafted Scheifele 7th and he's developed nicely after four years.
Patience and luck. I don't think you can put a time limit on it, it takes as long as it takes. - LeftCoaster
I didn't say two years to win anything. I am saying two years until we can change this mind numbing style |

Nope in two years we can change our style. - VANTEL
Without the personnel to replace the twins, our 'style' will only decrease in skill (yes, even at this point i believe that's a possibility). |

I really don't care what anyone says. I am not a fan of any of the Swedes on this team. I hate the back and forth passing between two players. I hate the no hit game . Henrik again with a clear line to the net decides to pass to his brother.
I don't care if the team gets even worse after they are gone , it just means higher draft picks and a quicker turn around. |

I couldn't disagree more. The game was very entertaining and the crowd was great |

I didn't find being bombarded in the third entertaining at all . As far as the OT goes fans can say it was entertaining, I say Canucks screwed up and there never should have been an OT in the first place. |

I'm not a fan of hitting everything that moves, yeah, the Sedin cycle is old and tired, but the Boston/LA/Anaheim/SJ pound everything that moves style is just as boring. |

To each their own i suppose.
I'll gladly take the twins, even at this stage of their careers over the future first line of:
Granlund, Sutter, Eriksson

I dont disagree with the 3rd but overtime was entertaining and they played a solid first 2 periods. I really like the 3 on 3 hockey. F@ck the shootout. PK looked great. |

Of course, a lot goes into having a successful team, skill, depth, goaltending etc.
Some kids don't need to be developed, highend kids, they're just ready. P. Kane, Eichel, McDavid, MacKinnon etc. |

I think they've gotta play this way until they increase their skill level, that's gonna take awhile unless they get a few first overall picks that they're lucky enough to be NHL ready. |

Granlund Sutter Eriksson would make a decent 3 Rd line |

Both can work, last year Pittsburgh won without a big body in their lineup, they just outskilled everyone and scored more goals. |

at the mercy of the lottery, with not a very good record when it comes to drawing straws... |

Shouldn't have been a fourth period
Games are 60 minutes not 40.
Whats next they played a great 20 minutes?
I seen Carols blog about two days ago. Canucks played a great 20 minutes but then

McDavid is a generational talent, it's not a good comparison to Kane/MacKinnon. And both Kane and MacKinnon took a couple of years to get as good as they are. |

The past is meaningless when it comes to the lottery, they haven't participated enough to really have a good base of historical data. If they put themselves, at the trade deadline, in a position where their odds are favourable, luck will one day be on their side. |

Whichever style we adopt once the twins retire makes no difference to me, as long as it provides results. I've seen enough of the cycle. |
